Now comes rehab. We have a place we have been working with for years.   Both of us can go at the same time. We should have things just about ready when we are done.

Probably don’t need to hear this but stay on top of your pain meds, even in a month when you think “I feel fine”, the not fine sneaks up quickly and doesn’t leave in a hurry.

Get home, get rested and I might come down and do some art... you should be studied up by then. Meanwhile I have a stinkin house to put back together...
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

Have you thought about offering the nurse a free place to park her RV?  She might know other nurses who could help on a limited basis in exchange for an rv  space in the country.  Just wondering.  You should probably warn her about John though.

I’m already gone from the hospital and home in my own bed. I’ll be so freaking glad when I have less pain. Actually I guess I already do. Getting in and out of the bathroom is hard. Getting up those RV steps makes my eyeballs pop out!!

My dad's approaching six months his knee replacement. Hes very glad he did it. It was difficult to see him in so much pain, and he was like the oxy does nothing!!!

Do you have one of those ice water circulation machines that pumps ice water from a small cooler to a pad which can wrap around one's knee?

My dad's surgeon said he would not release him from hospital without one. Kind of pricey and my dad skoffed and lied, as they were also on backorder.
But a neighbor dropped one off. So much better than heavy bags of Ice placed atop.

It had a 120vac to 12vdc wall wart transformer to power the pump. I told him i could strap him in the he van. Hook up the ice machine cIrculator to my battery directly. And get him outta the house.

he did not appreciate my humor, but i had found a duplicate barrell plug connector and had a portable agm battery all ready to go.

he loved the ice machine though. Said it helped greatly with the pain after the physical therapist left. And any other time the pain flared up.

hope the worst part passes soon.

No ice machine and no ice unfortunately. I have physical therapy at 3 today. I’ll bring my crying towel cuz I know they are going to get me. Doc had to cut and repair tendons and muscle because knee was all screwed up. I’m looking forward to a few months down the road.

If you can ice somehow a couple of times a day (I used frozen gel things) recovery is much quicker since it keeps the swelling down... also helps with the pain A LOT.

This kind works well because it comes with a sleeve and Velcro wraps to hold it in place.
