The E BIKE Thread
No pedals on the Cushman but it would haul your dog. We built swing bikes as kids

go to 4:40 & you'll see a very easy on adapter motor & batter for a reg peedal bike, Great idea.

Is your cushman hand throttle and brake?

Most of these industrial tow-motors have some sort of pedal (start button combined with accelerator pedal) you stomp on to get it going.

Which is nearly identical to most golf carts.

Either way...it's of no value to me but maybe you can sell it to somebody in need of one.

The latest and last, for awhile, 2-wheel unit, recently bought and sitting next to my e-bike and e-scooter:

It's a Freedom Roguestar, 150cc...silver colored, very small scooter. In fact, it fits in about the same physical space on my trailer as my e-bike.

In the process of breaking it in. First fill-up, 66 mpg. It will mostly likely get better as it 'breaks-in'.

I hope it gets better, my Geo Metro aka Suzuki Swift got 50mpg some I knew got 60+, my VW Rabbit diesel got 66mpg. Sometime if you buy too small a motor they get worse milage. I bought a new Dodge 1/2 ton 2wd v6 gas never hit 17mog the bought a Dodge 1 tom 350 4x4 biesel always got 24 mpg. Even pulling & hauling 24,000# from Dayton got 20.6 mpg with the OD off.

Years ago before all the emissions crap and ethanol fuel, it was fairly common to see the tiny econo-boxes (gas) get close to 40 and 50 mpg and they did that on pre-ethanol gas at 55mph or maybe 60 mph.....but that is not the case now unless you buy a hybrid. Ethanol gasoline has less energy for non-optimized gasoline engines. The EPA uses certification gasoline in its mileage test. Certification gasoline is ZERO ethanol...E0. But what we mostly buy is E-10 so we get about 10% less MPG....most of us do, anyway. And speed limits are way up. 75 is more or less normal now days and cars and especially SUVs and vans burn more gas at that speed.

And even modern diesels get fewer MPG now, and you have to figure in the cost of DEF. Thanks to the EPA and CARB.

In the trucking world, we hit all time highs of 7-8 mpg (average) around 2010...give or take a year or two, then fuel mileage went DOWN again because of all the emissions crap. Then it went back up again. I'm out of the loop but I suspect it has flat-lined in the last few years. in 40 years of trucking the highest mileage truck I ever drove (Peterbilt 579 with a big 15 liter Cummins) )averaged about 9.7 mpg.

That's AMAZING for 80,000 pounds, day in and day out.

As is, the scooter got about 66 mpg IN TOWN mileage, during break-in, on ethanol gas. No car can beat that unless its a hybrid or you hypermile a tiny econobox or hybrid (like a Prius) on the highway.

I'm sure you know how to test gas for ethynol & many planes are STCed for car ga with NO ethynol. Many airports sell MOGAS which is mid grade gas with no ethynol. Ethynol is added before leaving the terminal or even at the gas station. We had a lot of planes STCed for gas with no etynol so I made a deal with one of 6 stations in town & he bought real gas & a car or gas truck would get 10-20 more MPG on it. For those who want to know you take a clean glass jar with a lid & fill it 1/4 way up with pump gas & draw a marker line where the gas level is then add about the same amount of water, put the lid on, shake it well & let it sit for 1/2 hour. If the line hasn't moved it's pure gas, if the line where the gas meets the water it has ethynol. Ethynol is the same a heet we all added in freezing weather to keep fuel lines from freezing. Now you know.
