Around 8,000 people are bitten by poisonous snakes in the US every year.  About 8 die from it.  So literally, your chances from dieing from a snake bite are about 1 in  1,000.  The snake may, or may not, inject any poison at all.  If it does, it may inject a lot, or, if it's recently used it's venom to hunt and feed (which is the purpose of the venom in the first place) it may have very little left to inject.

The main thing to know is that all the old info on snake bites is wrong.  DON'T carry a snake bite kit.  DON'T cut near the bites and try to suck the poison out.  It doesn't work.  The only real treatment is to get your butt to an emergency room for treatment and observation - it can take up to 24 hours for symptoms to become bad.

How in the heck do you pick? Ive made a few posts on what Ive been reseaching but I keep coming back to vans.

However...I am a truck guy. Love my 1 ton and would love a nice F450 for a nice truck camper.

What Ive come to realize is that I want a single unit, no extra unit (with wheels).

How do you guys get so decisive? Ive been working alot and I dont mind it so I can save up. But...on what?

I am planning on buying a cargo van, using Polyiso for insulation, covering with luan-type paneling (we shall see). 

But... how do you mark where the ribs and holes are, for future additions, like a shelf or cupboard?  I'm thinking that there must be a way, but I can't really figure out how to do it.  Any tips?

Hi, folks!  I'm the other snikwah...sometimes referred to as Mr. Sniky or even Grumpy Sniky (think I saw that used here--it's a handle I acquired in the past--even have a couple of the Grumpy the Dwarf T-shirts and haven't worn them out yet).

Been researching the van dwelling thing for a while now.  I am quite familiar with vans--drove them for work trucks for over 20 years.  I've been a carpenter/remodeler for over 30 years, so vans are handy for that.  Once, about 20 years ago, one of my carpenter friends remarked, as we were packing up for the day, that he had to go home, clear all the tools out of his pickup and put them in the garage and lock it before he could go in the house.  But all I had to do was pull in the drive, lock the van and go on in!  But when he replaced his old pickup, what did he get?  Another open pickup!

So, yeah, I like vans.  Started with a '68 Volkwagen bus back in the '70s, over the years we have had 3 Dodges and 8 Chevy/GMC vans.  I like the 3/4 ton, 350 engine; we've mostly had conversion vans and occasional passenger models--in Indiana it's cheaper for license plates for non-commercial vehicles.
