electrical issue/outlets/refrigerator??
#31
An update, only a few months late...lol

Finally got most of my electrical woes fixed. Got tired of waiting on the repair guy in Louisiana to actually show up, so I booked a spot in Livingston and contacted a mobile repair guy here. He found the problem for my 110 outlets and they are now working. He tried fixing the charging center but could only get the DC outlet to work (not the 2 usb plugs). He has a replacement on order and will be back in a couple days to replace it.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Oh, the problem was with the outdoor outlet. It had loose neutral wire(s).

Not outside, but he told me what he did. Other than the outlet itself being different, I know exactly what he did from me trying to figure things out on my own. (Jammed the loose wires back in with a screwdriver) lol

I watched the inside stuff. He had a different device from what I had been using. It seemed to tell him more? Or maybe he just knew more! (higly likely) Because once he plugged it in, he knew what he was looking for. He checked all the outlets, inside and outside.

We have had a rash of bad GFCIs lately. These all cause problems when on inverter power.

GCFI outlets don't like cold weather. I've replaced them outdoors and in unheated garages. Frost makes them trip and then stick in the off position when you really need them. I'll take my chances without them.

GFCIs don't like being outdoors in the weather . Any weather.
A frequent replacement part in all campground power pedestals and RVs.
Loose wires are always an issue too , especially in vehicle systems.

Don't always trust the power you plug into . Test it before you plug in.
Just one of those 3 light outlet testers can save your ass , literally.

We aren’t plugged in. Dang thing keeps popping even after the little button is already popped out. John turned off the breaker. RV guy was here a couple hours and said it was a loose wire and fixed that. I don’t know how the dang thing is loose again though.

Anyway he will be back in a few days.

John’s young cat, Tony, brought him a present about an hour ago and plopped it down in front of his chair. I didn’t look closely but I think it was half a mouse. That’s one less from the wash to get inside the rig.
