It’s the top red light but the engine oil is a hair low.
I detest worrying about the ethanol in the gasoline trashing my carburetors and fuel systems. Wish they didn’t add that stuff. Finding pure “REC” fuel is hard and expensive. I “run the carb dry” nearly every time I use it unless I’m going to run it again quickly but maybe enough ethanol is in the jets to gum it up? Might be gumming it up slowly? However it seems to run good after it quits a couple times so I’m convincing myself it’s the slightly low engine oil and a very sensitive oil level sensor. Which is good I suppose. I’m sure glad my van doesn’t have a sensitive sensor. It’s usually slightly low. But it has 5 quarts. This generator has less than a quart so it needs to be very sensitive.
I’m tempted to try full synthetic oil. The recommended oil change is 100 hours. What’s your change interval with synthetic?

Level running is off and on.
Sometimes it will run for hours and just quit ,
lift the low side an inch and it starts right back up ?

Ethanol gas is all I've ever used.
I just turned over 2K hours last winter.
I always add double dose of Sta-bil to gas when I fill the cans.
Sometimes it sits for months with gas in it
Always starts on first pull unless it's been sitting for a month or more , then maybe 5 pulls.
I did run it dry when I first got it but over time less often and now never do anymore unless I'm running it for extended periods and it just runs out close to when I'm finished using it.
Typical for me is 8-14 hours on a tank and I rarely run more than 2 hours mostly...so it doesn't run dry much...

I think I'd just get an extra carb and not worry about the gum..
Maybe some day I will.

Oil changes when I think about it. Skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh
The 100 hours goes quick if you use it daily....I've gone 500 hours but maybe 3-4 average , for me it depends on how dirty it is.
Stick your finger in it and look. Then decide is my usual method....

Don't forget to check the filter , again some places are dustier than others...

Always use choke to start unless it was just running and even then , it needs choke sometimes.

Speaking of hours, I added a cheap and simple digital tach/hourmeter unit from ebay to a couple of my generators.

Of course the more expensive gensets tend to have a built-in hourmeter but the less expensive ones dont.

Theses help me keep track of oil drain intervals since I have more than one generator.

I was looking at them, there's even one that IIRC works on the vibration and doesn't need to be plugged in..
(kinda like a pedometer?) And just by co-inkidink it's red.

The ones I bought are self-powered (battery of course) but there is a small 'sensor' lead that you wrap around the spark plug wire.

They show RPM when the motor is running, and hours when the motor is not running.

Some of the fancy ones have reset features, setting for 2 or 4 cycle, 'wasted spark' ignitions, etc.

But I just got the el-cheapo units for 4 cycle engines and they work fine.

Those are 1/2 what the vibration activated ones are .
Maybe I'll get the vibration one so we can compare notes.

if it is an over sensitive oil level sensor me,myself and i would bypass it,unless you have a leak the oil level shouldn't drop much if any
