Santan is very close to where I am staying. I could go get a panel. I’m very unsure how it will attach to my roof or to my closed system roof rack. I heard that the expensive rails from Ford don’t hold. I’ve not seen them in use either.

Buying new factory racks would be a expensive proposition just to hold a panel or two. I’d improvise and fabricate something if it was my van. But maybe you can get racks surplus or used from a wrecking yard. Mounting panels on a rack raises them up and allows a lot of air circulation underneath which is good. There are rack bars which mount with bolts to the side of the van. They are reasonable price. Z brackets on the roof are common mounts. I dont trust just a few screws in the roof very much. But with some adhesive and screws it would probably hold. You can order Z brackets from Renogy or other listings on eBay.
Hey Jim, if you use adhesive and brackets what type have you had success with?? What do you prefer? Thanks

I see many types of rack for those Transit Connect vehicles on eBay from $74.99 to $1000+.
Maybe the inexpensive bolt on type if you’re concerned about them not staying put??
I don’t know how the existing rack would come off and replace with something off a wreck
I’ve wondered how to fabricate a clamp or bolt something on there.
