I loved the magnet fishing when I tried it. If you do it from a bridge make sure the magnet doesn’t stick to the bridge - it can be hard to get it back.

I saw a tv treasure hunting show long ago where a guy was magnet fishing for relics from shipwrecks. not gold cause it isn't magnetic but he was trying to spot areas that smaller vessels went down in the backwaters of the Keys area I think?....can't remember it all but it was very interesting for sure. This magnet fishing has alot of purposes definitely

yea I don't even 'work my metal detector' around piers as much at the beach anymore in that 'all the debris' from building that darn pier chirp me out to the max......but one time at the base near land I found a diamond ring so it was worth checking but most times it just doesn't work.....too much metal left behind in building means ya can't rarely hit the good stuff, be it magnet or detector LOL

one thing what I do is research areas of 'interest' that could fit magnets or fit detectors that aren't near all that modern bulding type issue and then go....like the tv show guy, did research in learning areas to throw that magnet and it wasn't near any type of already built structure. But he was one of those who 'hit a wreck' that contained rubies and diamond rings and more 'treasure' but heck this was his liveihood and his passion so but that magnet makes a diff in finding areas of interst that could then be valuable in the end, but damn tons of work goes into that type of sluething for treasures

on the beach I have hit SO MANY sinker weights, my hubby will never ever have to buy any sinkers to surf fish again in his life HA
