Launching a side entry Chinook into full time dwelling
Posted by: Hollis87 - 03-30-2018, 02:04 PM - Forum: Welcome Center - Replies (11)

Hi everyone. I’m new to this forum and am glad you’re all out there!
I’m a 56 year old woman and am losing my affordable housing in the Bay Area. So I got an older Chinook, 1995 Ford E350, Side entry w bed in back and love it! It does have some issues...
I just replaced front passenger break, pads and rotor and need drag link (whatever that is) and ball joint. Expensive stuff. I’m hoping to be able to hang onto my housing until fall, the owner passed away and I have to move but haven’t been given notice as of this time.
I’m really looking forward to living in my sweet Chinook once it’s all fixed up.
The interior is immaculate and it has 400watts of solar already installed but needs upgrades on
controller and inverter and needs better batteries.

I heard the owner of this list is also redoing a Chinook and would love to be in touch! I’m spending my savings fixing it up and I’m no Mechinic by any means so I have to have others do the work. It’s killing me financially but... it’s gonna be my home so I’m all in!

If anyone knows ethical honest RV Mechinic’s in the East Bay Area of California let me know!!!
Peace & Thanx,
H

A useful webpage. You type in any appliance and they tell you how to fix it and sell you the part if you need it.

  Generator inverter Rural King

I got an ad for a generator inverter for $339. It has to be ordered on line. Free pick up at Rural King. Seems a lot cheaper for the same kind of thing elsewhere.

Sarah here, I’ve visited a few times and know one of the members here well.
I stay busy with school and life in general so I will be an infrequent visitor.
I have lived in my Outfitter Apex truck camper for years, part time at the moment.
So “Hello”.

Home built vs Mass produced question
Posted by: Everyroadleadshome - 03-25-2018, 08:46 PM - Forum: Useful Information - Replies (39)

Does anyone have any experience with their homebuilt rig and getting into private campgrounds?  Do some allow them, none allow them or just luck of the draw?

I def want to build my own and the time to purchase something is fast approaching, but I know i'll want to use private campgrounds from time to time, especially while i'll be on the east coast for a bit and only part timing at the moment.

Decisions decisions.  Leaning towards the home built still. Planning on doing a cargo trailer build out and now that there are some mass produced ones that look like cargo trailers I think I could add some decals to it and no one would second guess it.
