Golden Anniversary
#11
I  was about to meet my future husband in a few months.
The older brothers of some of my school mates were there with you.  In my family my generation was too young.

The one before mine served in WWII & Korea.   Some have served since then in both the Army and Air Force . Then latest to serve are my son and a nephew.   Both were in the U.S. Navy and are civilians now.

Thank You,

Jewellann

My whole block went. Every kid around my age joined. Where I grew up was boring, we went to see the world.

My radio operators brother called yesterday, i was the last to see him alive. The brother (David) was a couple of years younger and i guess sees me as a connection to Terry, the brother who was KIA. I didn’t know hm well, he had only been in country for a couple of weeks.

I hope you (Scott) are safe from the fires there.

Thanks, Rob,

I am safe. Nothing much more than freeway re-routing and the like. Calabasas won't burn too many rich Hollywood types live here and most of the lots are an acre or such so lots of space between trees and landscaping set up to avoid flashovers. We went to dinner at Lure last night, a great seafood place, and I saw Patricia Arquette. Loved her work since I saw her in True Romance. Bounce home to Vancouver tomorrow to spend Christmas with my Mom. Then got to pull the old R50 Pathfinder out of the barn, get it sorted for the trip down to see you all at the RTR. Renegade Camp Bravo. Planes, trains, and old automobiles!!!

That was the year that I graduated from HS. I don't know how many of the guys volunteered and how many were roped and hogtied, but I heard that several were killed. One guy came back in bad shape, had been drenched with Agent Orange; when the cancer showed up, he robbed a bank to get arrested, and died in prison. Most of the ones that came back weren't the same after that.

Someone (decades ago) said that if politicians want wars, their family members should have to go and be immediately involved in the field, no desk jobs. It sounds good to me.

No, I’ve seen a couple out and about over the years but we all just went our separate ways. A couple didn’t make it back and I’ve checked them out on the Virtual Wall (i am not going to the real Wall) and left a comment. That’s it.
