Mn C, you don’t know me and I haven’t seen you post before so don’t presume to put words in my mouth or interpret my reasons for not participating in a research study.

Same goes for what I think about “navigating the evil VA bureaucracy “I have been been “navigating” the system just fine for many years.

if you joined this forum to troll people I suggest you find someone else to fuck with, I ain’t the one.

Getting too old could be the theme of the last two weeks. I had four friends or co-workers pass away and was faced with a huge challenge all a week from my big 52! My old Doctor used to tell me that I had taken a ton of years off the end of my life and that I shouldn't write or read any long books in retirement. I retired four years ago and while a little overweight, a predilection for smoking tobacco rolled on the virgin thighs on island ladies, just off Florida, and spirits it is all good.

The operator side came online for the recent adventure and I was reminded that death is just giving yourself permission to do so. When we stop chasing dreams, desires, lusts, and fun we are giving ourselves this permission. Death is usually more by degrees than the massive trauma Gunny is describing. We cling to fears, real or imagined, and excuse our personal behaviour and responsibility to craft the life we want. I got a thousand reasons to be dead, but I ain't one of them. If life were fair I would be. But life isn't fair and nor is it just. It is only what you crush and shape it into.

This is a good thing and sometimes it takes an asshole self to tell you. "I won't stop fighting cause I don't want to die..."

I read where the average lifespan in the U.S. is 78, and the average lifespan of a doctor here is 62 or 65.
