The road pro cook box is about the size of a small lunchbox. It does ok. Yes a meat loaf recipe thread! I don’t have a real great meatloaf recipe. I’m always experimenting. Some are good some not so good. I like it with potato chips but having to avoid salt...
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

Pro tip

In that sort of place, most people are in and out on their way.

Just order what you want to eat at the moment.

Keep the menu, let them know you're not in a hurry and might order more later.

Two or three bites from done with a course, give a wave and order the next one.

Personally I like my salad last, and I can't stand brewing my tea in less than a big pot of just-freshly boiled water.

Progresso creamy tomato with basil.

That brings things to a whole new level.

I hate that feeling of being rushed, and like you said, especially when it's not a busy time. If it's busy then it's understandable. When I first got into project management, the company I worked for did the maintenance work for a lot of restaurants in New England. In several of the kitchens was a flow chart......basically a time frame they wanted their servers to keep. And it outlined how fast they wanted the servers to do everything.....basically wanted people in and out in 20 minutes or less. So I think servers get used to this pace and then can't adjust for it when the restaurant is slower than their peak hours.

If I want to relax I'll just order one thing at a time. Drink and a salad, when that's finished order my meal or an appetizer. Otherwise it does come out too quick and it's not as enjoyable. I of course won't do this it they're slammed. But if there are mostly empty tables then i'll take my time.

I do a Hawaiian meatloaf with light sage sausage and spam mix with Cheez-it crackers crumbled up. Mix in some pineapple, mango and papaya chunks and use the juice for a glaze while baking. Then top it off with a sweet chili sauce for the finishing. Aloha....

In stark contrast to this, I once waited 3 hours for a meal at a Denny's
Needless to say I never went back

Yesterday Camilla and I stopped in for meatloaf at Russels in Glenrio TX. I went to freshen up and the food was on the table when I got back (talk about rushed!).  Camilla had a unhappy look on her face. The meatloaf was black and hard. I flagged down a waitress and she looked shocked that we didn’t want it. We were talking about what to do and were presented with slightly fresher meatloaf. I made it clear that meatloaf was not an opinion, and asked for the manager. Well she stood at the cooks station talking with him and giving us dirty looks. That is when I went to pay and go. “What about the pot roast you asked for?”   (Oh hell no!)

Another waitress told us no charge and we left

If I wanted to get huffed at by immature girls I never would have hit the road.  Fresh this morning does not cut it for dinner food.
