Mini? Lithium Batteries? Added Solar Questions and Wonderings
#21
OK so I'm sorting all this solar stuff and components in my head. I've read and read and researched and researched, but this is what I think I'll need in my solar system (the components).

I understand that some systems (like victron) may have a transfer switch in with the inverter, etc.

What did I miss? What did I get wrong?

BTW, I have ordered a replacement hatch. It has a fan in it (same company/brand). At least to start, there won't be a need to cut another hole for a fan.

You're coming up to speed. Maintain course .

Only missing all the tiddly bits and I wouldn't have drawn them either . Too much clutter for that diagram anyway .
You can put it all in your system schematic. I know ,,,, WHY a schematic? Well later on down the road when you want to open it up for one reason or another it will be nice to have a reminder of what it all is. Double that reason if somebody else has to work on it . An hour or two can mean a lot to you when a tech is running the clock.
stay tuned

Schematic...check... I'll do it, once I know what it will be, because I hope it comes in handy in the future. Still reading and watching videos on all the things.

It might just be me suffering from wiring fatigue from doing it since I was a little one but I forget how I wired things after a while. It saves me a heap of time if I have to trouble shoot mine and especially someone else's system set up anyway..

Although if the system is set up all together nice and neat on one wall like in the videos . It basically IS a pictorial and a schematic .

I don't have that wall space so it's in two adjacent locations , the buss bars , shunt and system fuse are in a covered plastic tub under a shelf that the inverter is mounted on .
The main battery cutoff switch and the big fuses are on the sink base wall , all of which is in a 12x16x16 space between the kitchen base cabinet and my refrigerator cabinet.
The switches/fuse panel/USB chargers (and even one lonely ciggy socket JIC) /inverter remote/battery monitor and the controller are all on both sides of a 12x16 door (hinged so I can actually see the fuses and everything else behind it.) that I made closing the space off from the front .
The battery and charger is under the sink with the original AC breaker box and the now unused old 12v fuse panel .
I can't see everything at once.
Remote functions will be very much appreciated. The BT units are up under the overhead cabinets with the backup cam antenna.
3D chess is easier....
So yes a pictorial and a schematic are good ju ju.

Funny looking back now, I never did one for a sound system , even the huge ones. (I had my secrets.)LOL
I just plowed in and dominated , Sound Team 6 ...it really was about survival too !
stay tuned

Will Prowse really likes LiTime. Do a search on YouTube for Will Prowse and you will find tons of videos. He is amazing. Here's a link to a video where he tears down the Mini and a 460ah battery.

I did go with Li Time actually (but not the mini). The only thing I've bought for the solar/electrical systems so far.
