Looks like we have another Ham ! Shiny ! 42 73 hike !
I had a pair of analog meters like those in most of my rigs . Just gave 'em away to make room for some new digital ones from China , probably a big mistake ? arrrrrrrrgh. Lets just say they're not Flukes and make a wish . Did you do the cabinet yourself ? I've done some cabinet work myself but it led to a life of doing concerts somehow and I'm just getting to doing some for my own use since retiring,,,And here I am off the wagon. Doing a 4 day show and might go into next week , It seems I passed another audition,,,,,,, As Cammie says. "what was I thinking ??"

Yeah, the meters are antiques, I’m such a geek I even backlit them in blue. Digital meters back when these were installed were super $$. And I do have a fluke77 ! Lol. Are you a Sound Engineer? Techie?. I was in a band all thru the 70s which lead to a rewarding career in electronics Video/TV. Broadcast Tech/Engineer. Retired and got into installing marine electronics. You should have seen some of these beasts, triple or quad outboards. $6M Yachts, just unbelievable. All the wiring in the van is marine grade, all tinned wire, Blue Seas hardware. Inverter, charger, ACR. Worked PT @ West Marine so I got everything just above cost. I basically installed a marine electrical/ electronic system that would be in a 25-30 Cruiser in a van. Plus overkill/bullet proof on everything.

Yeah touring concert eng since 80 just a average bad player before that . Built my 1st radio when I was ? 10 , saw The Beatles , bought a guitar and became obsessed with designing speakers in tron school ( tube era with a hint of transistors .) during classes . My teacher was a bone player in a big band and helped me a lot and was he ever surprised when he found out where all those weird questions done went and took me !
I could have used that West Marine discount back in 01 when I bought my first solat panel,,,a Siemens 75w for $600 ! argh My fluke is a 23 , so you win LOL! Likes on the toy shelf ! There are other wire heads on the forum and I'm sure you'll know when they show up on your thread.

Sounds like we have a lot in common. Same generation for sure. My first concert was Cream, that changed my life for sure. My first guitar was a 66 Fender Strat, I bought with the money I got for painting my parents house. Next was a 100W stack of Marshalls. We were a college frat band, PennState was home base. Played most of the N.E. Our PA was 4 1218A Altec cabs powered by 2 Crown D-150As the 1218s were a compact version of the voice of theaters with covers that enclosed the front for travel. Boy if I would have kept my guitars I could have retired a wealthy man. Love it, A TUBE MAN! I used to do Amp work part time. Me and a Buddy had a shop called Custom Amp Werks in Pa. Authorized Marshall, Fender, Peavy. Authorized distributer for Groove Tube. I fact I still have a matched quartet of EL-34s new still in the tube, some 12ax7s, 7025s, 12at7s all new from around 1987, I going to ask $1500 for the 34s on Reverb. So do you still work and travel in your van to job sites? That would be really cool, the folks you meet and places to see.

Hmmmmm , chicken bander huh ? ME TOO ! I found it vastly more entertaining than hampsterland. Still have a couple of 29s and a rat shack mini 601 that came with my rig (along with a panasonic 8 track! ) ,,,with the ground wire firmly screwed to the dash , which of course was plastic ! So . mint , AND a testament to the previous owner's tron edumbification. , skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh
I used to write songs about other "outstanding" CBers and then sell tapes to everybody else . Very popular , bought a 4 track with the proceeds... not much getting out except solar background uptah camp these days . Good enough for caravans with friends and @ Q though. I lost my antron99 in a fire , probably get another some day. Have you found YARC yet ?
