How to find a van
#1
Not an instructional post, a question...

Seriously, how do you find a van (short of shelling out big bucks)?

Hoping for a few helpful hints (I'm looking at you Gypsy!) Big Grin

What I'm finding is a lot of overpriced vans.

Search early and often.

My latest vehicle find was found by mis spelling one word in the title. I got lucky.

Also expanding your search area.
Compared to parenting, Cat herding is less complicated

Firstly: I read the title wrong - lol

2nd: I like Craigslist and Offerup
(is where I usually find vehicles and things..)

3rd: take a trusted mechanic with….!

Van prices are cheaper in Atlanta, and there are plenty for sale.

The Fords cost more than the Promasters....

What are your go-to places to look, if you were looking?

I'm looking at FB marketplace, cargurus, autotemptest, rvtrader, vanlife trader, commercial truck trader, and sometimes just a general google search.

I'm getting to the point of overwhelmed. Keep changing my mind on what I'm looking for (based on what I want to spend, etc)

LOL

I had not thought about offerup... I'll look at it. Craigslist should be showing in autotempest searches I think (I'll verify).

Even a low top Express van like mine with low miles starts at $15K these days.

I guess I'll have to look in Atlanta, if for no other reason but to have a price comparison.

I'm not sure I'll get a transit at this point. It's a feeding frenzy for transits, new and old, and they just seem to be really over priced. I'm thinking something older now, something that would hopefully last me/serve me well for at least 3 years.

But now I'm even more stumped on what to look at, what to search for, where, etc...  Huh

I know where there's several low top vans like mine starting at $6500, with high miles. A good van like mine will be $15K and up. A high roof van will be $35K and up.
