Solar has been happily powering house systems- including fridge- for a few days now. Yay

Guess all that hanging out with e-geeks pays off Wink

Good van, nice van.. broke down IN Quartzsite.. not in bfe en route.
Spoke with my STM and he believes - somewhere along the 5v system there is a broken wire.. fun
But got towed to camp and have a few days to try to fix it.. (all the shops are a week or 2 before anyone can even look..) so will rummage around in/under the engine and see. Did find a really good diagnostic info page.. with how to use my obd2 to test sensors and circuits.

The guys eyeballed and found incompatible wire groups touching each other.. (harness main and spark plug group) potential voltage interference- so that was addressed with a high tech ziptie. Now she starts and only has one code atm..

Going to test drive her today and see what happens.

The battery (-) to engine/fenderwell/frame should always be removed , the ring terkinal amd fastener threads and receptacles filed/wired brushed shiny and retightened whenever electric weirdness arises.

Braided Engine to frame grounds often disintegrate,.or.in some.cases, their redundancy woud have added too much cost to the vehicle, originally.

Drives went well. Went around camp a couple times.. bumpy rocks.. the. A run to the water station.. more rough ‘road’.. also went fine.
So we made a run into town and stopped a couple places and did stuff.. still acting normally. So we may have found the culprit! Will make a few more town forays over the next few days.. just to make sure the squirrels are happy in their wheels.

Broken again- mechanic thinks alternator/regulator has been working on failing.. throwing 14.8
.. and multiple error codes..

Due to the 2-3 week shop wait.. my STM is willing to come here and fix. (for a fee, of course)

Is it buried or accessible ?
Not real easy like old school but not a terribly tough job if it all can be reached.

Ask him if he wants to come to Maine and fix my throttle cable ? It's frozen , the cable , but the state is too....LOL
(I feel yer pain.) That STM is a keeper !
