Ok- plan … C?
Battery refused to defy physics - so now it needs to figure out where it Will fit.. lol
I was going to put it under the passenger seat.. but.. now that will be where the SCC and fuse block and such will get mounted.. ok. Need to do a little figuring/measuring. I have, at least, a temporary location for the battery- so not a real problem.. it is just not an Ideal spot.

I'm sure you'll figure it out once you've "sat with it" a bit. How dare it not defy physics!

Update on drivability- soooo close.
STM got new pump and bits installed.. but- seems the manufacturer neglected to include the appropriate cap for the reservoir.. sigh - and, of course they argued with him about it.. should be available today.. so another day of being grounded. But after that- I am back in the driver’s seat!
Working on my last minute hit list before my exodus to QZ in a week and a half!

The parts house should have told someone. Pumps do not include caps. I learned to look for those words when I replaced my first one in the 70,s. Same body is used on many versions. Some call for a different fluid level. That is why I was told back then I should have kept my old cap.

Yay- she is all buttoned up and ready to rock (ish) again! Aside from a very slow oil pan gasket leak.. which will need to be addressed later, as it is a much more arduous task than you would think. The ‘Landy’ is a bastard hodgepodge of car, full size van, and full size truck parts. And they had to get creative to get all those parts to play well together in a small space- lol
But on the plus side, if I need parts, I can pull from bazillions of trucks and vans if I need to. lol
Now back to our irregularly scheduled programming……..

I hate making an extra trip. When I had my van whenever I got a small replacement part or clip I would buy extra and put it in a bag in my spare parts bin. That $50 saved me lots of time not having to go to the parts house.
When you need bolts, Tractor Supply has them by the pound.
Most things today take a plastic clip.

High mileage oils contain seal conditioners which might swell the leaky seal amd slow, perhaos even stop the leak.
The corporate average fuel.economy rewards manuf turers for a higher fleet average mpg.
Easiest way to.achieve this, is to use thinner oil.
Thinner oil might protect fine, the vehicle will likely still dissolve around the still functioning oil burning engine, but a thicker oil might have slowed the ring cylinder wear.
Thi ker oil woikd have less tendency to leak past co.promised gaskets.
In houston, skoff at 5w-20 printed on oil fill cap.
Use 10w-30 without fear, especially when out of warranty.
Your fuel.economy will go.down by 0.004 mpg though.
