Electrical sucks. Why did I build or do I build so over the top. Why place an electrical contact distribution under the sink. When, not if it, gets wet. I feel your Frustration.

Yeah keep it off; that created a bit of heat at one time looking at the pics. Anything outside of a few top shelf builders will have similar Mickey Mouse parts and design flaws. So fix what ya brought and make it better than it was.

sierra1 brings up a good idea...an upgrade might be a better solution than a replacement. Those molex connectors use an insulation piecing groove which works fine for awhile, until it doesn't..as you found out.

I might be inclined to use something similar to this:

The copper conductors still need to be prepped and dressed, not just shoved under the set screw.

Late to this party, but the rusty screws indicate heavy moisture has been around an electrical device. Never a good idea.

Makes me wonder just how stupid were the people who designed and built the 1989 Tioga that I own. They put the converter/charger in the base of the bathroom vanity, water and electricity in close proximity. To add to the insanity, the vanity is located along the back wall, making a total electrical round trip of about 50 feet to/from the house battery which is located behind the driver's side headlamp, quite a voltage drop. I installed a solar control/charger on a wall behind the driver, about eight to ten feet from the battery, so the house battery actually gets charged every day. I never depend on the converter/charger.

Yep...any replacement or upgrade to this splicing block should either be moved from the wet/humid location or at least moved up above the floor and covered or sealed.

Technically there should not be any water leaking or seeping onto the splicing block, but we all know that water has a way of going where we don't want it to.

Just condensation from a cold surface in humid air could have been the corrosion culprit.
All my power is under my kitchen sink .
It's all about saving a few feet of wire...........

I'd bet the repair guy has seen worse . .
Should get you straightened out better than new.

That existing device is approved for Romex.......What are the black wires?

Amazing. Maybe they don't always run the cables from front to back.

My Tahoe Lite TT separates water from electric, with exception of the water pump. Water's at the back left corner under the bed with the bathroom sharing the inside wall, and the electric is left middle under the jackknife couch.

The bathroom vanity is the least used sink in my Class C RV.

I turn the water pump off at night and whenever I leave the RV for a period of time. Paranoid about water leaks and damage.

When I got the RV I put in all new plumbing for the kitchen and bathroom sinks.

Then I upgraded the ancient Magnatek trickle charge/converter with a Progressive Dynamics slide in replacement 45A charge/converter.

Here is a couple pics of my latest RV, a 2019 r-pod 171, which I sold last year. But thankfully I have pictures still in my google photo album.

It's a very compact RV so everything is crammed into a tiny space. You can see the faucet and sink (which is covered by the dish drainer) but looking carefully you will see the battery and holding tank monitor panel, (2) 120v outlets and a USB charging port, along with the LP furnace, which has a 12V supply line AND a control box for the roof air (not visible of course).

These electrical devices are all in the same cabinet as the plumbing for the sink and the DWV pipe for the sink, but they are NOT on the floor of the cabinet, they are installed up towards the top of the cabinet, other than the furnace of course. 

I never had any problems with this part of the RV but then again the RV was new when I bought it and only a couple of years old when I sold it.  In 25 years....who knows!

I turn my water pump on every time I need it. I am paranoid too. Saw a video once that a guys toilet ran (adding water to) all night and flooded everywhere. No thanks. I'd rather catch what I can. Too many things I already can't see.
