Thank you for posting that I looked at the website and it actually looks like a place I would like to be.     Some RV parts seem to put the RV so close together that you can hear certain personal hygiene sounds from one of the other two that you might not necessarily want to wake up to.  You know things like........... Well just use your imagination!!

What's left of me & the four-legged critters.......... It's been a rough week.

I had an aha moment today. First thing today I had an eye doctor apt and he said I need surgery. Then I figured out that sliver in my finger was not coming out and it was infected. I spent 3 hours in the ER. Then I needed a prescription. My regular pharmacy was closed so I drove to one farther out where a friend is the manager. She wanted to grab a bite to eat so I helped her with a few things. But the aha moment was for TJ. My friend was throwing away really nice foam coolers with DRYICE. I asked if I could pick up one next time I leave town and she said just ask. So try going to a pharmacy and see if you can get a cooler and dry ice. Dry ice would be a good thing for your meds. Some stores sell it or you can call an ice company. Those coolers would fit in another cooler if you can’t get dry ice. Just tell your pharmacist you will be traveling with meds and if he has any dry ice could you have it? BTW don’t touch dry ice - it will hurt you...
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

MY SAN TAN ORDER ARRIVED.........AND THEN THE UPS STORE RETURNED IT.  SO NOW IT'S HEADED BACK TO LOVELY L.A. FOR AN ADDITIONAL $20.  I HAD CALED UPS 'CUZ THE VAN WAS HAVING A FIT AND I COULDNT GO GET MY SOLAR STUFF RIGHT AWAY. THE PERSON I SPOKE TO SAID THAT WAS FINE.  A FEW DAYS AFTER THAT SOMETHING TOLD ME TO CHECK AGAIN.  IT HAD BEEN RETURNED TO AZ.  THEN  IT TOOK A WHILE FOR SANTAN TO FIND IT. HAPPILY IT'S ON ITS WAY BACK SOUTH AND SHOULD BE HERE IN A FEW DAYS.

RENOGY HAS  THEIR 300W PHOENIX SOLAR "GENERATOR" ON SALE  FOR 1/2 HALF OFF @ $199.00.  I'M SERIOUSY CONSIDERING BUYING ONE.  THE ALINER ALREADY HAS A 12 VOLT SYSTEM.  I'M THINKING THAT WITH MY 2X100W PANELS PLUS THE PHOENIX IT WOULD BE EASIER TO USE AS A POWER SOURCE BOTH  IN AND OUT OF THE VAN THAN ME TRYING TO INSTALL IT ON MY OWN.  ANY INPUT ON THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

MY FIRST TRIP TO KY TO THE KIDS WILL NOT BE THE MAIDEN VOYAGE FOR THE ALINER.  MY HEALTH ISN'T GETTING ANY BETTER SO I HAVE SERIOUS DOUBTS THAT THE ALINER WILL BE MAKING ANY TRIPS UNLESS IT'S TO MOVE TO AT LEAST A SEMI PERMANENT LOCATION.   I'M FAIRLY CERTAIN THAT I CAN NO LONGER RAISE IT WITH OUT HELP.   I'M THINKING ABOUT A LARGER VAN WITH NO PULL BEHIND, OR MAYBE WITH A SMALL CONVERTED CARGO TRAILER?  WHATEVER I GET I NEED TO BE ABLE TO STAND UPRIGHT.

I'M SOOOOO GLAD THE Q AND RD ARE CHIHUAHUAS.   I STILL THINK THEY PUSHED ME OFF THE BED ONE NIGHT.  I'M NOT A SLEEP WALKER AND AS FAR AS I KNOW I'VE NEVER FALLEN OUT OF BED EVEN AS A CHILD.

$200 for 300 watts of panels is just by itself a decent deal , all the rest that comes with it is a bonus....

It sucks you can't lift open the A liner , but don't forget the people around you .
stay tuned

Doing electrical is something I enjoy; running wires and making pretty crimps and all that. Really reminded me of my car audio days and how much I enjoyed building competition cars. Then like most things in life I started getting paid for it and it became a job and I got sick of it. Mostly because the clientele and the shift from sound quality, a nebulas thing to measure, to DB Drag racing as SPL (sound pressure level) is much easier to measure.

When I started this recent van build I built shopping carts full of parts of the stuff I would need to build an independent 12/120 system and do it to Marine “like” standards, isolated 12/120 branches. It got expensive quick my BlueSea dual voltage breaker panel, built custom on their website, was close to a grand. It looked super cool and had a couple of gauges I didn’t really need but looked real nice. But it wasn’t the cost that stopped me it was where do I put everything and once put does it serve me well? Unless I wanted to start playing around with GFI circuits I couldn’t go outside. It’s a van condensation is going to happen, I am me spills are going to happen so shouldn’t everything be GFI? Questions questions and then maximum futz if I didn’t want to just Jerry rig or red neck it. Like the fool that originally “did” the electrical. A 3000 watt inverter only connected on one side, the inverter had two sides of input on 8guage cable positive and negative. He hooked it up to a single 50 amp/hr flooded lead acid using two cables to one side of the inverter. I asked him about this and he just shrugged and said it worked. The battery is six months old and remarkably it isn’t trashed. I cycled it on the charger over the past few days and after three days. Recondition program, whatever that really does. Anyway it is holding a good charge so I can repurpose it to someone in need. So many videos and experts showing people what works And have extension cords coming in cracked windows and and…So as the inverter seems ok I’ll keep it and tie it into the lithium as a just in case option as it is small and can live in a corner for that Murphy moment I need it. Wired to both sides, correctly grounded and fed by 600amp/hrs of lithium. I could have run the cheap five plug extension cable he did and it would “work” but…

I bought a solar generator to run all my A/C power. It’s portable, sealed, condensation proof, isolated from then vehicle electrical system. The AC circuits are all nice to have things not my life depends or not to be to melodramatic comfort depends on it. It can in a pinch fill in for my DC circuit up to 40 amps. I can pull it out back to run a power tool. I can go help someone else without placing my rig beside them. Sometimes hard in off-road situations. If I kill it watching a great series on Netflix I make coffee the old fashioned way in the morning. No futz.

Or I flip the switch in the hidden inverter and suck a little power from the real house bank and make my espresso and charge the solar generator for ten minutes just to get it off the floor, electrically speaking, and hook up my 300 watts of portable panels to slow charge it for the day.

Independent and redundant and more convenient. So those were my reasons for building the van the way I did. I still don’t know where it’s going to live yet but as it is portable it’s not really an issue.

Just my thoughts. I am by no means an expert. But from a currently in the process. These are my thoughts.

As long as it covers what you need. AOK
Applying a theory and seeing how it works out then fine tune is the way it works best.

My system has been running for a ??year or two and I am thinking of implementing the final arrangement of parts (finally did the insulated box for the fridge/freezer which will be one side of the power center final arrangement ) including some wire stretching which will create "hand me down" lengths in various ga. to redistribute eventually bumping out the less than perfects to the isle of misfit spare crap .... ( I DID make most wires extra long to account for when I did these changes but as they seem to do some things needed to move a little more than my then plan due to ....
yup yup , add ons , AND subtractions. (I gave away the 90# Heart Interface power management box with the 2800w MSW and 90a charger that I called "the boat anchor."...over th' side ker plunk) !

Envy the hydraulic crimper I decided to not invest in and of course will end up getting after I finish everything ..arrrrrrrrr

This is WAY easier than landing a rocket on a barge out in the ocean ....
stay tuned
