Regular powermax charge algorithm is not idea. once it reaches.14.4 or 14.6v..15 minutes later it drops.to 13.8v.
The lk model adjustment requires a jewelers .screwdriver varefully inserted into the side.of.the case.
I'd urge further research into each powermax model one finds at whatever retailer. I had huge issues getting what i wanted even with randy at bestconver dot com and errin at powermax in the loop. Fustercluck really. But this was 2013 or 14
Id not get an unadjustable powermax. Even the lk model might do the 15 minute thing
And the pd9245 or.pd9260 its really worth getting the 14.8v model especially with flooded gc2s up north. These have model numbers of pd9245-14.8....pd9260.14.8
Goto source. Use contact me for e mails. Pd about the 14.8v models..ppwermax about the adjustable models. and 15.minute thing. There have been changes in since i acquired mine.
Hold off.on the order now.clickys until you are sure what you are ordering and
Can actually hope.to receive what you expect.

the powermax had a lot of failures reported, which is normal for reviews, the $100 less makes me suspicious of quality
havent looked at other brands yet
still think one circuit at a set voltage to run the house and another doing the charging so the battery would be doing nothing but charging would be nice but think that might mean two units
quick add up and i should be around 30-35 amps being used, that would be two fridges, all fans/blower on high, laptop and lights on at the same time for some weird reason, normal operations 15 amps maybe

The dual circuit idea..one for charging.,one for powering dc loads......is revealing as to your grasp of things.
Get the pd9260-14.8v
I think it has dual outputs one can put 4awg into and you can put one circuit closer to loads and one to the battery terminals. But a wiring diagram would.reveal little.to no overall difference in performance.
Now if there were loads you did not ever want to see 14.4v+ i can understand your desire... but very few 12vdc items explode at 14.5v. Leds can run hotter. Incandescent too. Most things just work better and more efficiently at higher voltage.

the thought was not to rob the battery of any charging amps, make the most of a limited time plugged in,could just turn everything off,the time i was in that parking lot with zero uv hooked to cheapy charger,if i turned on the laptop the charging volts went way down, turned everything off and wondered and spaced for 6 hours to get 80% charge,12 amp charger my ass
right now with the solid clouds, alternator or charger is the only way,old metal schumer is fine for cheapy napa battery but if i'm going to spend $3-400 on some batteries i want a proper charger
couldnt find any info outside a couple forum post on the 14.8 so sent PD a message asking

Well. Its easy to combine multiple charging sources....especially when battery is under 80%. I do it all the time... so called smart schumacher and meanwell. Just have to start schumacher first get its 25 amps going then add meanwells 40. Powermaxes.100 is most desirable. Have added meanwell to powermax but it maxes.out 15 amp circuit...then some.

"Hello,
We do not make a charger that puts out 14.8….
14.6 is as high as we go
Andy"
guess i will get the mass produced 14.4

looked on the marine side of things since i basically live in a marine setting and yea, spendy, would be nice to have water proof though
