I bought some 12 feet of red LED rope lighting 10 years ago. It can be cut into 4 inch lengths or cut every 4 inches.

I love soft ambient light.   Mine can be dimmed.  The red is great for at night Pee bottle deposits, it does not screw with my ability to fall back asleep like any sort of white light does.

As far as I know, The only DC LEDs which might not respond to a PWM dimmer are those that say a wide voltage range, like 12 to 24v.

I have not researched what I would buy today, but I have seen some LED strips with multi colors and remotes and dimmers built in. Not sure what they run on.

I really prefer the LED chipset not be visible to my naked eye. Bright Diffuse light is what i like.

LEd fixtures, especially those made for boats, are wayyyyyy overpriced.

My favorite interior light is a 99 cent store gooseneck light, into which I fed slightly thicker wire, and installed 3 T10 wedge bases, and rotate out these leds as they start flickering from overheating.  I also installed the guts of a PWM led dimmer.  it is probably good for about 750 lumens with the bulbs I currently use, that claim 450 lumens each.

I'll add this light to the sternwake files at some point.

Somer pretty insane surf conditions in Portugal right now for some of  the best competing surfers in the world, note I wrote 'competing'

I have the light strips. Mine are about 6 inches long and there are four of them connected together which I plugged into a 12v outlet. The plug has a red toggle switch for on/off, so I don't have to pull it out to turn it off. But since it's portable, I can move them outside if I wish.. The color changing is nice, but I'm stuck with amber until I find the lost remote control.
