Crazy it was somewhere in 2013 I started following Bob, I was sick as a devil and confined to a bed 24/7 and the RTR was just a little gathering and I was hoping i'd be able to get out to it one of these years and still am for that matter! There's still a plan to get a travel rig in my head somewhere, the house is just about done and as of now planning on selling it the spring of 2022.

I have no ill will towards Bob, I hope he's happy and his vision is what he's envisioned, I don't think there was anyway to know it would have become as big as it has, but it looks like he has all the people in place to deal with it as best they can. People are people, you never know exactly what the crowd will do til the crowd gets there and even then it's likely to change day to day hour to hour.

I hope they get some land in the future so the gathering can be all together again. All split up makes me sad as I really liked to ride around to see the rigs.

I guess I’ll have to check Putts site to see where his group will be. They are the party crowd big time!

Best organized 1 week event I've ever seen is EAAs AirVenture in Oshkosh last week of July every year. Never an overflowed trash can or dirty porta potty. For volunteers working together 1 week a year & over 600,000 people attending it's the absolute best I've ever seen & the worlds busiest airport 1 week a year. I used to fly in & camp under the wing. It's amazing to fly in, I'd fly across Lake Michigan to Ripen Wi last time in a 1938 Taylorcraft where they paint arrows between the RR tracks pointing north. The controllers are so busy you can't talk to then just listen & they'll tell you wag you wings so they know you can hear them. I had no electrical so was on a handheld & only held 12 gallons of fuel. There are 4 colored dots on each runway & they tell you which which dot to land on & you turn off the runway as soon as you touch down as someone else is landing over you. The problem lies in keeping the planes at the right seperation which is 1/4 mile which you just can't do as some are stuggling to fly ttat slow & some that fast. Only problem I ever hasd was when we had 2 Bonanzas landing together on different dots but all was good. I won't be at RTR as I don't care for the forums over moderation or the forum in general & I'm not supporting California in any way. I've enjoyed Bobs videos but think sometimes he's not told the negitive parts of van life & convinced some you can do it for $300, $400 or so a month. But if you want to see the very best vounteers working together go to Oshkosh last week of July & don't miss the friday fish fry at the seaplane base. You'll be amazed!

RTR is in Arizona, not California as was originally planned.

He said it would cost about $600,000 for BLM land near Quartzite. I wonder what it would have cost in Cali? A million?

I wonder if they're really expecting 10,000 people? Wasn't the estimate of attendees for last year about 700?
