Releasing the Magic Smoke

Ive had more smoke releasing incidents. One 24v papst fan smoked shortly after or perhaps during the smokeless failure of a buck boost voltage controller failed.
Before it failed I noticed it was drawing twice the wattage as other buck boost modules outputting same voltage, powering a known good papst fan.
