Hello Folks and Pets
#1
Hi from the Left Coast not far from Puget Sound or the Salish Sea. Just want to find a nomadic group to get to know. Seems I’m growing feathers and getting flighty. But the rig I hoped to use isn’t ready. Maybe in a few weeks it will be good enough to uproot and go. I’m wondering about where the van builds are?  I’ll have trailer of tools, solar electricity, materials, and look to trade working on vans. Last Winter I was in SW Arizona with my cargo van. My first time as a escapee. Though I’ve had buses and vans in the PNW for a long time. I’m so tall I got a bigger rig now. I’m wondering where I should ask about insuring a shorty cut away van school bus? I had the title changed to RV. Thanks

Welcome.
+extra points with me for mentioning pets.

Lots of folks will be at the LTVA’s in Quartzsite this winter. I’m sure others will chime in soon.

Yeah, sounds good regarding insurance Blacktank. I left it till Friday so will wait until next week. Is it against the rules to name companies? I guess since it’s not a fancy RV I can save a bundle by going without full coverage. I’ll do a keyword search on insurance and towing and all that business.
Sounds hopeful Blanch. Yep, I’m amazed at the assortment of animals folks take along on travels. Well, I’ll check out the categories sone more. I love to tinker so hoping to get some ideas from other builders.
I will mention I built a heater that is heating the floor. Being cold is motivating!  Just got it going a couple days ago so am really enjoying not wearing my winter gear inside lol.
Hope you all are staying cozy and go easy on the holiday food.

Ohhhhhh , I need to hear more about that floor ! I'm in Maine...........

Ask any questions you want.
You'll get answers that 'll make you say "THAT'S IT !" , to "seriously ?"  and just sitting there pointing and laughing at the screen.

Advice is like a box of chocolates........so indulge yourself .
And , hey , give some out too Cool
stay tuned

Really, do tell.
I’m huddled over a small space heater in the trailer right now. It’s chilly.

RT- I'm working on a shuttle bus build now. You can find what little there is of my build thread here. PM me and I'll turn you towards a vandweller friend of mine did about my build. He made a complete list of dang near everything for a build. I got major engine work to do. But getting all my goodies bought and shipped in everyday. Interior build on mine has been pushed to March 2019 due to work and weather. I'll be doing mine in Little Rock, AR.
Welcome to our second or third...or fourth home. Great folks here. This ain't no crvl. Been very valuable place for me. Lots of good advice and I have formed some great friends here. I only hope to see them someday on the road soon. Kick back and get cozy. But watch out for the fart cushions when sitting down. LOL David "Free Range"

Welcome Roadtripp....

I insured my rebuilt/remodeled motorhome with Progressive.

As it is titled as a motorhome, they will insure it as such. But, given that the last time it sold was to me...at $300. I had to work with he agent to get a full and proper amount on the insurance.

There is no place where I could take it to get an appraisal. So, the deal is this..I declared the value. Should anything every happen, I need to produce actual sales slips and paid invoices for the amount I declared. Yeah, it will exclude all the labor I put in...but it will include all the material and a fair amount of the labor too.
