coach and house batteries are dead
#1
The RV is parked at my daughter's in full sun.  It has 2 - 145w solar panels that connect into 2 wet batteries with 70ah each. The water level is good.  The coach battery I am unsure of the size.  When I went over this week to run the RV a bit, all batteries were dead.

When I jump the coach it should charge the house batteries.  But.  What might have caused the solar to quit charging?  And if I have a power drain, how might I figure out what is the cause?  I'm returning to my daughter's tomorrow to jump the coach battery.

Thanks for recommendations.

The house batteries are charged by the alternator (and solar). (I'll be honest, I've no clue what is a multimeter?)

Is it as simple as the battery disconnect switch being thrown on the control panel where your tank levels are displayed?

Start by checking your solar fuses.  Then look for anything you might have left on to drain all the power.

Look for lose connections or components that look or smell burned.

How old are your batteries?

The batteries are a year old.  I haven't found any lose connects or anything that smelled burned.  I will check the fuses tomorrow.  It would be wonderful if I was ditzy and had left something on  Big Grin easy fix.

the starter and house batteries being run down at the same time might mean the device for your alternator charging to prevent that might not be working and needs to be checked out

are you able to check the wires going in to the solar charge controller? it should read something if the panels are connected to it

a multimeter is a cheap electrical device that will let you see if something is drawing electricity and how much among other things it does
