Tom

I did not get to the point of asking since I did not have a 6620L to flash.

We have gone through periods of not using it as much and I got lazy and accidentally discovered this.
I let mine lapse for almost three months. During this period it would still connect to the internet. So I had almost four months of service for $5. This unit is a spare, so I would not recommend trying this if you are using one as your main internet connection.

So it turns out my 3G hotspot is a Mifi6620L. I wonder if he would flash it to 4G for me at a discounted price if I shipped it to him? He would get the number to flash the 3G to another device I would get a 4G device....worth a shot?

This service is not the 3G service. I pay my 3G every three months and there is a explanation as to why it will keep working. I will not be messing with the 4G as it has been working nicely even without a booster. It also cost too much to dick around and loose it. My first payment is in five days.

Is there a 3G thread? I will start one if not. The thread over there got so long that it was hard to find info when people needed it. Talking about both here will get confusing.

You can call or text him Heidi. He can remote flash your 6620L but I do not know what he charges for that or mail in service. Believe me when I say you will love the upgrade.

I called both of the Dr Wireless numbers but no answer on either. I was hesitant to leave a message because there was no indication I had reached Dr Wireless or any business whatsoever. I left a voicemail anyway on the second number. JustJim what number do you use to call or text him?

He says he can remotely flash my Mifi 6620L to 4G LTE for $175 *if* I have "fast home internet".

We have a T-Mobile hotspot that, at this location, gives about 7-12 mbps upload speeds and 23-25 mbps download, and he said we can try it. Requires TeamViewer. I'm hesitant about allowing remote access to someone I don't know, but Jim you seem to trust him so we'll try it on an older laptop.

Hopefully later today I will have another fast internet option! Very curious if it will fork for my partner to do his Twitch streaming on.

Hmm. I have to buy a SIM card, which is another $10 (plus sales tax?) and none of the stores in my area have it in stock so I'd have to wait until Friday, then drive to the store to pick it up...

It's a $65 difference of buying a new one vs. upgrading my current one, which is in perfect working order.

This thing cost me I think $120 off ebay initially. I've emailed a few friends to see if they're interested in having the value passed along to them. Leaning towards buying another device at this point.

My 6620 started acting up shortly after I purchased it last summer from Dr Wireless. They connected using Team Viewer and reflashed it. I have had no problems since. It's very tempting to have it flashed for 4G.
