This will be my last new detector and I wanna get it right. I researched the heck out of stuff online, NOW I WANT personal experience on what to buy next.

whoa, sweet, but damn when I said price is not an issue, I really wasn't thinking of spending like 6K on a detector LOL
I was thinking up to about 3K tops HAHA
but you know what, I might just consider going that high on my last detector of my life....hmmm, will go check it out very carefully
thanks

Here's your homework.
Keep the AT for a backup.
In no particular order.
>>>>>>>>>There will be a learning curve ! <<<<<<<<<<<
Smaller coils are better in trashy areas.........
Headphones are very helpful hearing faint targets down deep , for wireless BT ,
use AptX Low Latency (LL) only.
and remember , new products released on a fairly regular basis......
VLF type
water dunking allowed.
ML: Excaliber (to 200')
XP: Deus2 (to 60') (5 year warranty)
ML: Equinox 800 (to10') ,,,some have leaked but ML will replace under 3 yr warranty.
PI type
Basically gold hunters but can kill on a beach with proper settings, generally much deeper than a VLF .
Also typically not waterproof though.
ML: SDC 2300 or any GPX 3500-6000 or the GPZ 7000
Whites (Garrett) GoldMaster 24K
Head spinning ? A lot to absorb huh ?
ML: Vanquish 540 , a VLF more like your AT's easy peasy. And cheap compared to the rest.
(Simultaneous Multi Hz is a wave that must not be ignored........)

Lots to absorb , + and - points on all of them .
DO THE HOMEWORK before buying.
Talk to people you see detecting about their likes/dislikes but take 'em with salt.
Everybody has opinions....and nobody steps up to the plate in the big leagues without doing the drills...

yea treasurenet.com hit 2 guys saying Deus 2 is best for beach with lightest weight and I am researching now and it seems nice at a very more affordable price.
I mean I am ok to go higher but don't wanna go over the top ya know cause getting older, what is my detecting length vs. my neck/shoulder issues and more but damn I want GOOD DAMN detector when I do swing
at the 8 minute mark he talks mineralized sand and salt.
I am like the '2' over the original obvy but I am also checking out more info on it.
you gave me more to research but no my head is not spinning in that I know detectors and I 'seen many' and checked before but MY personal USE of a detector changed for me so now I want 'what suits me now' from others experiences so............I know coils and more and this and that but I am going 'very narrow' in use as I get damn older and best buy for my money is key as I wanna USE the damn thing and not be more curtailed with the chirp of mineralized sand and the weight of a detector but that darn Deus is interesting but more to check.
feel me narrowing down more to suit me now, I like that thru other's help! us oldies, hitting into that realm need help with what we can handle vs. just being a detector out there WHO can swing the world, but darn if my limited more detecting is ALL I got to come as I get older, darn right I want great while I swing

That’s going to be so fun. Have you been over your farm detecting yet? I’d like to do this place. I dunno how long it’s been inhabited but my barn is pretty dang old.

The Deus 2 is causing a lot of raised eyebrows.
5 year warranty too..
It has pre loaded settings and a huge amount of adjustments to customize them if you can absorb the details.
Really shines in areas with lots of ferrous , tight recovery times so you can swing fast.
And yes , everybody likes the weight.
The question is usually if it is worth the extra price compared to the Equinox 800 or even the 600 !

yea Popeye I am still checking it out. I noticed lately I am using more of just standard settings instead of customizing my use. I am more narrow now.....I used to detect everything ya know but now it is more like, beach only, my fav and I feel like I don't require customizing and all that too much anymore. Older I get I kinda want just a great detector out of the box without having to customize and change a ton of crap to find some crap in the sand
Camm I did detect the ol' homestead of hubby. 100 acre farm and all I mostly found was junk. but cool stuff from old farming days but nothing of value.....there was 'a dirt' road the horse/carts took to 'town' what there was of it back in the day and I did find some horse/mule shoes and found some 'wagon parts' I think but other than that I never found a darn dime on that property HAHA
I never did much relic hunts. I focus on beach detecting mostly cause that truly is my lure. At home I hit some places and found some coins and such just 'detecting' around kinda thing but again, my love of this all is mostly beach cause it does combine both loves, beach and treasure
I will want it for when we go out West on the road in the future. I do want to swing it around out there but not yet, still anchored down here for a while more, but yea detector will surely be used on the road, no doubt about that.
