...from the corporate world. I just made my escape from the rat race! I've been a nomad, however, for a long time, maybe my whole life if your criteria are lax. I grew up traveling with my family, and in 2003 I started preparing to be a nomad and have basically not had a permanent location since 2008. I spent quite a bit of time traveling internationally and spent a couple years in europe and central and south america.
My style of travel and living has evolved over the years, originally I wanted to sail around the world, but discovered blue water sailing wasn't for me, then I travelled using this new service called AirBnB for many years, and the next phase is a van.
Next month I will buy a ProMaster 159 wheelbase cargo van and start converting it. I can't wait!
By training and genetics I'm an engineer with a background in electronics and software, but have had as a hobby mechanical engineering-- specifically Battle Bots, I was nationally ranked for a brief period before robot combat and nomadism became incompatible. I *might* use some of my discretionary space in the van for a robot workshop, we will see.
Now that I'm not working 80 hours a week anymore, I'm going to need some hobbies.
But for now, its all about building the van.
Greetings!
