Hello and welcome.
I'm pretty new here myself. VanGrrl57

So things are getting real. Got approved for a loan, have multiple offers from dealers, now just gotta pick the one which is the best deal and closest to the options I want.
So far as far as the loan, the dealers, and insurance is concerned this is no different than buying a car. We will see when it comes time to register it, though, but the dealers are quoting TTLs that are what I would expect if I was buying a big old family van rather than a “COMMERCIAL VEHICLE”. There’s even a consumer (eg not commercial) rebate going on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Still moving, but now I can do it in the van rather than the car! At least in theory. Don’t actually have the van yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Van is in my possession. Got an offer on the car, looks like it will sell for a good price and cover a huge chunk of the van cost. Woot!
Some more logistics to deal with but should be building in a couple weeks. Amazing how small the bare van is. I give props to Winnebago for making the TRAVATO feel so big. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome News Techno !! Now I'm getting more encouraged to buy the one I'm going to look at this weekend. Don't forget what Gary said to me...If you don't share the pictures etc ...it didn't happen. LOL

I need to start a build thread and all that, but for now I’m buried in chores... once all the chores are done I can focus just on the van. I can’t wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Chores, all those things I put off to allow me to work on the van. I guess firewood and staying warm were unavoidable, though. All the recent rains around here have the weeds in the yard beginning to look intimidating... but I'm still working on the van instead.
LOL, each to his own, but I sure look forward to a photo of our new van in the rough. A before picture, as it were. I am also going to be looking forward to your build thread, as what I've read of your plans thus far make it sound quite different and very interesting. A van built by a builder of battle robots, I can't wait!

Oh no problem. Didn’t think a raw promaster would be that interesting. You can see the first thing I need to do is attach the radio antenna.
The dealer I got this from really didn’t have their act together. My chores have a deadline, and one of them is selling the car, so I’ve got logistics to deal with. But since I’m self employed, I’m taking a break from clients for a few months and so I’ll be able to focus on the van. There’s a lot of problems I haven’t quite figured out yet— like what to use instead of plywood for the subfloor. (No wood or paper in the construction, nothing that can rot is my goal.) I really can’t wait. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
