Weird. The people close to me who committed suicide had plenty of money.
I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

My google mojo skills are poor. However when I google - suicide rates rich poor - or some different reiterations, I can't seem to find any solid numbers. I do see that the top results don't necessarily reflect the stance that poor people commit suicide at a higher rate than the wealthy. I imagine others can see that discrepancy also. None of the articles I took brief looks at really had much solid data, so I'm not linking them.
I am wondering if it's my search skills or if something else is going on. It would seem to me in the information age we are in, these statistics would be easy to find. I do think it's more complicated than just rich\poor, but still, there should be solid numbers out there!

It could be that, since every 'study' involves a different group of people, they may get different results every time.

I was chatting with a few people who fed, and advocated for the homeless. They'd just had a meeting with the city's mayor and got him into some trouble on social media due to his comments.
Why would he want to help homeless people???? SoCal spent massive amounts of money on housing homeless, and it had two results: 1. More homeless 2. An expansion of those homeless into other communities. Los Angeles' homeless crisis goes from bad to worse In short, the more you do for the homeless, the more there are. Quote:Homelessness in Los Angeles County is "paradoxical", says Waldman. And, of course Bob doesn't want homeless at his website. They won't add to his website's, nor his Amazon revenue stream. If it never struck you, almost everything is about promoting consumption with him; which heater is best, how you should deck your roof out in as many solar panels as will fit, what's a good price for a generator, etc. All with his handy Amazon links! Each lady with $700 /mo income will spend something at his Amazon store, a homeless person; nothing. I do think there's something there with extreme low income people and vandwelling- It's a better shelter than a tarp.

Govt only creates and sustains problems, it doesn't solve them. People who are poor, sick and ignorant are easier to control than the opposite, so they want to make everyone like that. AND IT'S WORKING!

At the prices they are getting for homes and rentals in CA it’s not surprising there are tons of homeless.
I think I’d leave. There are still plenty of places you can live on unskilled laborer wages. Where my house is for one thing. I bought the small two bedroom house across the street from me for $25,000 a few years ago. Rehabbed it and rented it out.

That is an answer I do not know, but if you look to nature for your answer the answer is no. That being said I help others whenever I can whether it be shoveling out an elderly neighbor or helping someone catch up on some bills. The answer to this question is the difference between freedom and slavery. In freedom you are free to help those less fortunate, and in fact the best way to get rich is to make millions of people’s lives better— eg look at the human potential the iPhone has unlocked globally. In slavery there is someone who claims they own your life and thus they have the right to place their “need” above your “desires”. They often will point to the less fortunate as an example but inevitably they are the ones getting rich. This is seen in, for instance our welfare system where something like %25 of the money stolen in taxes is actually used to help people. Private charities on the other hand tend to spend %10 or less of their income on overhead— and are far more morally superior because a private charities income is not stolen. So really, it’s not a question of whether different people have different situations— they do and always will. It’s a question of whether one group of wealthy elites should be able to abuse the poor by enslaving them and everyone else with the claim that this slavery “helps the poor”.
