"No more talking about the homeless" - TedOnWalkabout - 03-08-2018

I was reading an interesting thread on the Dark Side and came across this comment by a moderator while closing a thread:

"Every thread about homelessness ends up as a closed thread. Please do not post about homelessness unless it involves you personally."

It's nice that this won't happen here.

I hate it when that happens...

wonder what was the logic in that or if there was any? kinda cutting out a pretty large part of the population and a major vandwelling topic

It seems to me that discussing the homeless and ideas for getting them shelter or in a van or vehicle to survive would be A major topic. Guess not. I briefly watched one of Bobs videos telling a woman she could live comfortably on 700 a month if she worked the system. I have my doubts.

There're a few players who make it political/partisan each time. Entirely predictable. Still, it would seem more appropriate to counsel the offenders rather than ban the topic.

I don't know which thread it was but I'll guess the mod in question was HDR.

This would make entirely too much sense. As an example, when ever the topic of guns comes up, there is one particular member that purposely trashes the otherwise enlightening thread. Rather than simply telling that one person to stay the hell out, they close the thread every time.  Rolleyes

Well , I've been thinking about this and the logical thing to do (Right or Ain't ) would be to,,talk about the homeless here ! This thread will do for where.

Of course , that's just my way . I have a feeling it's gonna be an interesting topic.

T W O h s,,,,P. O.

I'll start it out.
Homeless people don't have homes,,,,,,,or DO they ?

RE: "No more talking about the homeless" - Gunny - 03-09-2018

When I was staying at Budget Suites the residents were counted as homeless and the kids were viewed as homeless by the school districts. It didn’t matter the rent was 1100 a month, still homeless.

I don’t much care why CRVL would close such a thread, maybe doesn’t fit his agenda. And you can bet your bippy there is an agenda.

We have a few residents here who are fresh off the street, cheap trailer and a roof over their head. I say more power to them and help where I can.

Somewhere there is a homeless forum with mods deleting post about living in a van.
