The main problem with bathing with soap and water is the amount of rinsing required, which is why I bathe in a warm water/baking soda solution, which doesn't need to be rinsed.
One thing that might be useful, which I recently heard from a friend, was that those blue Shop Towels on rolls can be laundered in a washing machine. I don't know if this would be useful, but their bulk is much less for storage (clean or soiled), there wouldn't be that continuous discarding of waste. But once soiled, they would have to be dried quite thoroughly to prevent odor and mold/deterioration (aka 'rot').
