A frequent replacement part in all campground power pedestals and RVs.
Loose wires are always an issue too , especially in vehicle systems.
Don't always trust the power you plug into . Test it before you plug in.
Just one of those 3 light outlet testers can save your ass , literally.
I have one of the cheaper ones ($50 I think) and I do use it. I will upgrade to one of the better ones when I can.

$50 ? I've never paid that much for an outlet tester !
Maybe yours is good enough already....
Is it one with the three lights or the no touch ones ?

Opps no I spaced and was thinking about the line tester (surge protector) before plugging into 30 amp.
The tester I have is a cheapy that my dad gave me. You "plug" 2 prongs on wires into each side of the outlet. I had bought another one, put it up somewhere, and have not found it again. It was probably $10.

That tester just tells you if there's power.
The 3 light ones look like a weird 3 prong electrical plug with 3 led lights on the side facing you when you plug it in.
Cost in the $10-20 range . THey even have them at Wallyworld.
It will tell you if an outlet is wired correctly or not and also how it's incorrect if so.
By using a 15 to 30 amp adapter you can test 30 amp CG power too.
I'd recommend everybody should have one of them and always use before plugging in
It would have shown no neutral condition.. or any other conductor disconnected as well as ground / neutral reverse , hot neutral reversed etc.
( A hot / neutral reverse condition will electrify the outer body on a van or RV and if you're standing on wet ground when you grab the door handle ,,,,it could really ruin your day...)
stay tuned

Pretty sure that's what the guy had. I'll buy one soon. (Then the other one I bought will be found.)

Then when you buy and find. You can gift one to someone and save them from death. See round and round the happy goes.
