I cannot tell from the photo how the corner of the siding is done.  It looks like there is a 4x4 (maybe 2x2 in other photos from different sources) attached to the outside corner where the walls meet.  It looks like the cedar siding boards are butted up against the 4x4.  Is this how it is done? 

Or are there simply two boards attached to each other in a right angle, and applied on top?

Or is the corner piece milled into some fancy right angle covering the siding ends (butted together) and applied over the top?

They stopped the siding short, maybe half way on the 4x4 corners and then added the corner trim to it. 3rd picture down shows this.

I am so unfamiliar with this technique that I don't know what I'm looking at. The 3rd photo looks like what the siding is being attached to, and the original I posted shows the corner sticking out beyond the siding.

The corner pieces are just two vertical trim boards.  He stopped the siding about half way width of the 4x4 corner supports and then trimmed it out with the vertical boards to hide the cut ends of the siding.  Could have done this by cutting a dado on two sides of the 4x4's as well and not use trim strips since the 4x4 would have more of a built in corner but it is a bit more complicated.  Similar technique for vinyl siding as well.  This picture shows, from the bottom, the wall that would represent the 4x4 and siding going almost to the edge and a corner piece to trim it out.  But in the case of vinyl you do the corner piece first and then the siding.  On the wagon you do the siding first and then corner trim.

I can't tell from his photos either.  But in a typical siding installation the corner boards are made from 2 1x4's nailed together to make a right angle/Lshape, then nailed to the corner of the house.  The siding then buts into that.   He could have done a better job describing his process and photos to back it up in my opinion.

The problem with the videos and photos of the building of these vardos is that they skip over parts of it. People with construction experience probably know what they're doing, but it's a blank spot for me. If I ever get the chance to make one, I would rather know what I'm doing, rather than having to reinvent existing concepts. Like corners.
