Well, ballenxj invited me over quite a while ago but I've had to deal with a few things lately concerning my health. That has turned out OK, so now I'm good to go. Now it's time for an intro on Gary's new forum.  I never did do an intro over on CRVL years ago, just jumped right in. Oh well.

Anyway, I'm a divorced man in my mid-60s and have been a full-time van dweller at several different times in my life since the 1970's.  For the past 3 years I've lived in S&B and was all set to hit the road when my lease was up on Sept.30 and head to South Dakota for residency,mail,etc. before it got too cold up there.  Then the doc I see for my liver decided he needed to do some extra testing on me. They couldn't get that scheduled until last week but now it's done and everything is fine...yay!

My landlord bent the company rules a little and let me go month-to-month so now the plan is to leave about mid-November.  Last month I bought a '93 Ford E150 and I've been working on it to get it ready to tow a cargo trailer to New Mexico where I plan to spend the winter at the state parks near Truth or Consequences. Don't know if I will make it to the RTR but if it gets too frigging cold in NM, I'll be needing to head further west for sure.

I'm looking forward to enjoying this cool forum (thanks Gary) and maybe meeting some folks down the road sometime.

Hi all! You can call me whateverthehellyouwant, but most times Wabbit gets my attention. I am currently full timing it in an old Dodge b3500 Maxi. Used to tent camp for 6 months and then S&B when the weather got colder. Decided to try doing it fulltime a few years ago and finally got on the road in Feb of 2017. I'm closing in on 50 and bum around with a crazy chick. She says I'm the crazy one but that's because she's crazy and says crazy shit. I enjoy being on the road and plan on doing it as long as I can. Someday I want to get a dog. Thnx for reading!

By accident, I found a thread on converting a 1999 E250 Ford into a camper van over on a Ford Truck forum I use.  The thread runs 605 posts, stated in 2010, and the final post is in 2015.  Lots and lots of pictures.  The user name is WVVan, which I'm guessing means West Virginia Van or some such.  In case anyone here is interested in looking at it . . .

Yesterday Gotsmart and Cammula stopped by for a quick visit and while here told me about this place. BTW, it doesn't show up when you do a Google search for it. I had to text Gotsmart for the exact name. Maybe some of you computer gurus can figure a way to get it up to the top of the search results? Anywho, I still check into Bob's forum every now and again, but don't post nearly as much as I used to. I probably won't post a lot here either as I, like others, am trying to limit how much time I allow myself to be sucked into the internet. 

So for those of you who have never met me personally, I'm a 54 year old construction worker living in Colorado. I've been a plumber and boiler guy since I was in high school, but now I do more general contracting and am currently building a house for someone. I love taking a project from someones dream and making it a reality, whether it be a house, or deck, or van, or cargo trailer. I probably will never be full time, as that is not the missus's dream, but travel as often as possible either alone or with family by any means possible. I have a cargo trailer conversion I built a few years back, which is what got me started into the vandwelling movement. Previously my main connection to nomadic travel was through the overlanding community. I also have a KLR 650 motorcycle set up to travel on, and also enjoy backpacking. In fact in less than a week I will backpack into the West Elks Wilderness Area near Gunnison, Co for 8 days of living out of a tent and chasing the mighty Wapiti.  

I have 2 sons that have definitely caught the outdoors and wanderlust bug. My youngest graduated from college last Spring, and immediately went to work for Wyoming Game and Fish working on the Elk winter range for the summer. Now he is spending the Fall wandering Colorado hunting and living mainly out of his Jeep Cherokee and a backpack. My older son Ben, whom many of you met at RTR a couple years ago, just wrapped up 11 months of traveling and working in New Zealand, and made it to Australia this week. He plans to work and travel there until about May and then will return to the States to hike the Appalachian Trail with my niece. For those of you who are interested his travels can be followed on Facebook at Dirtbag Adventures. 

So hopefully I can contribute something here as time goes by. I love helping people with their builds, whether it's just answering questions or digging in and getting my hands dirty. I have a broad range of experience, not just plumbing.

Just thought I'd start a thread on the sticker idea... perhaps, like Gary said, an artist will come along and want to design us a cool ass sticker! In the meantime, you're stuck with my stick figures! If you have any ideas, suggestions, actual graphics, etc., please add them here!
