For KIA Gypsy Girl if she feels pinched!

Someone posted this on Facebook before I'd seen the wonderful things KGG did with her small vehicle Obviously, you'd have a hard time full timing it in this one, but still...

I just recieved one a few moments ago right after trying to PM Cammalu.  It had a webmaster link to contact.  I went back to save and resend the PM and then lost the notice when I tried to back track.

I've been looking here for a while  and things seem to be slow in CRVL so thought I would stick my nose in here.  Closeanuf is wegh2ez.  It's a name I've used for years in other places.

  Road Conditions
Posted by: Optimistic Paranoid - 11-01-2017, 09:22 AM - Forum: Useful Information - No Replies

In much of the US and Canada - but not in ALL states and provinces - you can get traffic and road condition info by dialing 511.  I noticed in my Rand McNally Road Atlas, on each state or provincial map page, they listed phone numbers and websites to get that info.

I decided to compile it all into one PDF I can keep on my phone for reference.  Thought I would put it up here if anyone else could use it.

I guess my internet radio station post is broken.  I see where someone deleted a few messages in there and after that I have a post.  I tried posting another update but it won't show up.  Says I posted it but nope, nadda, nothing.  It also shows there are over 1600 views???  Something is amiss I'm sure.

  1998 Safari Conversion Van.......?
Posted by: Texjbird - 10-31-2017, 10:23 PM - Forum: Passenger - Replies (8)

I've had this van for nearly a year and spent some time and $$$$ on it getting it ready to tow my Aliner. TT.

It has a 4.3 Vortek engine and 4spd  auto. tranny  It seems to "wallow" at times however the springs/shocks/suspension has been checked out.  When the class III hitch was added I also had helper springs added and the rear was lifted 2in with them.  My mechanic says there is up to another 2in adjustment we can use.  However we're waiting until its actually rigged and hooked to the Aliner with a load in both of them for a final adjustment.  If there is still a suspension problem what would be the next step?

Has anyone here dealt with this style of van with that engine/tranny or know someone else's experiance with one.  It only has 106,000 miles on it and I know that's the true mileage because this was my Moms van since it was new.
I'm wondering about how it will tow.  It is a high top, called a "TV" top I've been told.

I know that engine has some get up and go to it as once recently someone in a big pickup nearly ran a red light as I was completing a turn on a green light.  I heard his brakes/tires squealing and barely saw the front of his truck heading my way.  I gave that Safari a kick in the butt and nearly popped my neck when it took off.   The last time I heard those sounds while crossing a road I looked to see who was having a wreck.....and it was me Huh   My little red Falcon station wagon was totaled by being hit broadside.  It could have been worse.  I was going forward and the impact pushed me to the left & I was headed right towards a head on collision with a guy sitting at a stop sign........ Confused he had that deer in the headlights look going on.   I just put mine in the ditch.  I figured one wreck a day was my limit   Huh

  Hello, everyone

Just want to introduce myself.  Hubby and I have been full timing for over a year now pulling a 20 ft trailer. We have been volunteer camphosts at Glacier National Park for 5 summers and like doing something helpful for our public lands. We spend the rest of the year exploring and enjoying retirement. We stay almost exclusively on public land.  Best part is the great people we meet.  Looking forward to meeting many of you.

Hello everyone;

Can't tell y'all how thrilled I am to have found this forum.  Some of you may know me from "that other forum".  I was referred here by Cyndi on "that other forum" but did not see her on the member list here.  Perhaps in time.  I did however see a LOT of familiar names here and am thrilled to see them.  You all should be warned; I have an insatiable curiosity.  Do y'all have a yearly "get together"?  If so, where and when?
I'm currently hanging out in the Lake Havasu City area and will be attending Jamie's van build out party, Nov 01-14.  Hope to see some of you there.

1988 Dodge Roadtrek, 52,000miles + a couple of olfarts, one of whom is in halfway decent shape = outta here. Ed has Parkinson's+, a pretty nasty problem that takes your stamina and a lot of what makes you You, and just lets you live with that, for a long time. It stinks. He's also been kind of a renaissance man, able to do so many things, able to absorb all sorts of concepts, one of the kindest, most patient people imaginable. And he's still that, at least, through all these last several years. I would be awful. On the other hand, I'm a fairly handy sort, been a welder, carpenter, worked with abused people, at risk kids. I'm an above average bleeding heart liberal, but one of the people I love best is a horribly conservative gun dealer. We don't talk politics a lot. I'll have tools with me, so if you need a hand building a little something, sing out.
