Powering Bertha
#1
I need to buy new batteries.
No questikns asked, it is happening.
So.... here's what I've got going on:
Currently I have (4) x 100 watt Renogy Eclipse Panels
Renogy 40A Commander charge control (MPPT)
Renogy Tracer display unit
Renogy 1000W pure sine inverter.
All of this is powering (4) Pro Series XLD 6v batteries that were sold as 115AH each.  So I should have 230 AH.  My batteries were cheap and they are not enough for what I want.
I also have a active solenoid up front on a switch in the cockpit so I may use Berthas big ol V10 to charge the battery bank, but that shit ain't cheap, and not really very environmentally friendly.

I am running:
SMAD 12v refrigerator (should have waited and bought the Dometic)
Fantastic roof fan
(3) LED wall lights
32" flat screen with PS2 and blue ray
7 USB ports (front middle and bedroom, gotta be prepared.)
They charge phones/tablets/take along battery packs.
Soooooo what I am trying to decide is which batteries to buy and how many AH I truly need.  I did the equation and came up with like 200AH.  Supposedly I have that, and it is not enough to keep food cold and watch a movie at night.
GotSmart, you know my system better than anyone other than me.  You may know it better than me, I was drunk a lot of the time back then lmao.
I know of a place right outside Humboldt that sells solar supplies.  I'd like to order from them and have them ready when we drive through.

When you calculated your Ah needs.
Did you figure that the bank had to be at LEAST twice as big as your daily requirements?
stay tuned

No, hahaha. I actually bought as many batteries as I could to start out as we had blown our budget on everything else. I knew this day was coining from the day we moved in. We wanted out of that damn SAB so badly we would have left with a cooler and a blanket. Thankfully Mrs b. and I had a nice little chunk o change to play with to start.
PS: the fridge is 90watts, not sure of tv and accessories...

I like the way you think. One of those big Trojan L16H-AC or something like that? Those bad boys are too tall for my space...but I can lust.

If I am going to see you soon, we could do it that way... otherwise I have an updated address here in Florence.

The L16p... and yes, they ARE worth lusting for....
now I need to know if I can add them to my current bank or not. If not I will have (4) batteries up for trade or sale that are only 6 months old...

Perhaps, depending on the day we could meet up. I'd love to grab a coffee and chat
