I was looking online for portable washing machines and dryers to put in our van when we get the chance to buy one and mo fits it out and came across this washing machine and dryer links sold via amazon.com and was wondering is it worth the investment? has anyone used them or should I just save my money and use the Laundry Mats along the way to where ever our journey takes us?

Every inch of space will be valuable to you. I'd have to have a very large RV to be able to afford that much space.

One thing you can do is to tape off how much space is in the interior of a van to really see what you're going to have. The bed will be the largest part of that

Mo, Just put some sense into me and told me that all we will need to do the washing is a plunger with holes for agitating the clothes and a closed in bucket.

That's what I was planning on. A million and one uses for 5 gallon buckets...

And get one of those hand crank wringers to squeeze the water out of your clothes after rinsing. Out in the dry air of the desert they'll dry in no time flat.

Bob has a video where someone shows a small washer and he's been using it for a year, I think:

This is the washer he has, and he says "it's light-years ahead of a bucket and plunger": https://www.amazon.com/Costway-Portable-Compact-Washing-Machine/dp/B074RDWS11/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1506828630&sr=8-1-fkmr2&keywords=costway+washer+with+spin+dryer&linkCode=sl1&tag=cheaprvliving-20&linkId=50e2fdbdadbb8d28665bdf6a1bc728bc

But he says that this one is the same, but only $100: https://www.amazon.com/Giantex-Portable-Compact-Washing-Machine/dp/B01ALBMIEI/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=7AB0K0F48XSX50YFYXCH&linkCode=sl1&tag=cheaprvliving-20&linkId=61b3d2afc09a958f8be2ff4d97edeb12

I think carrying the water needed for a washing machine is its big deterrent. I also like to wash my sheets and blankets every few weeks, which is how long i go in between washing clothes. Not being able to do the bigger items like blankets would mean I have to go to a laundry mat for them anyways, so might as well just do everything there.

But everyone's mileage is different, seems lots of people have them and like them so I don't think the quality of the product is the question, just whether you can justify the space and water requirements.

We're in a 23 foot RV and I'm not sure we have the space for it. Though, I have been salivating over the options. (To clarify, we technically would be able to fit it in, but I am learning we also need a certain amount of "living space" and this could tip that over the edge.)

This subject is of keen interest to me because I am unable to use laundromats. I have a medical condition that causes physical reactions to, among other things, certain laundry products. The residue of other people's laundering products in the machines can contaminate my clothing to the point of my airways closing when in close proximity to it. It's happened too many times in the past to be worth it.

Happily, I'm finding having a shower + tub in my RV makes just about anything possible. I use these collapsible dish tubs for small loads of laundry inside the bathtub where I don't have to worry about splashing when I agitate the load. I've put up hooks around my shower where things can drip dry from, and make good use of clip hangers.

Finally, since where we're at the weather is constantly at or near 100% humidity, I ended up getting a serious 30-pint dehumidifier (after three small ones combined still weren't enough). Even without the laundry our windows were getting so wet from condensation the water was running down the walls (!) and just washing my work uniform would take 3 days to dry. The dehumidifier has made life work wonderfully again, like summer days. Clothes dry in a few hours. Now I just need to find a place to put it where we aren't tripping over it.

And I still want to try out a less exhausting washing machine one of these days. But do I want that more than I want space to easily move around my home? Choices, choices.

Heidi you must be in a park to not have to worry about water so much. Have you looked into one of those splendide (sp?) washer dryer combos made for rvs?
