Sun Electronics.
#1
I've been playing tag with this guy from Craigslist about 2 stinking panels, no big thing but he keeps stalling me. Not anything to worry about but irritating.

I signed up for a newsletter from Sun Electronics, the buy surplus and going out of business solar gear.

I called and had a very nice conversation with a guy named John, he explained the embargoes that have left a couple of US and Canadian companies in Chapter 11 or re-organization.

I told him I was a small time buyer, just a couple of panels and he said fine, we'll do right by you.

Told me to call him in the morning and he'll hook me up with his man in sales who knows what each warehouse has. Seems he owns the company.

Nice guy, might be worth checking out if you need solar.

Rob

Revived thread......We have purchased panels from Sun many times. And when in Florida I drove down to Miami and picked up panels, Outback inverter, charge controller, mate 3 remote display, panel, etc form Sun Elctronics.
Service can depend on what day of the week you catch them on. Usually ok, sometimes poor. Its Miami, they run on Miami time or some such thing.
But there are some wonderful deals on panels sometimes.
“Blemished” grade B panels are tested to work ok but have a cosmetic flaw. I sometimes wonder if there is more than a cosmetic flaw. They loose their UL sticker and are relabeled by Sun. So if you are installing a system that may be inspected beware that the electrical or building inspector may say “where is the UL sticker”?
Hurricane Dorian is headed towards Florida this minute. Be safe and good luck.
