I can't find the exact NADA value on this RV. But most of the shorter models are average value at around $13,500 and at least one of the longer models was average value above $29,000.

Given the times, are my expectations of using NADA as a baseline for an RV's value unrealistic? It seems most any vehicle I'm looking at (car, van, rv) seem to be priced around $20k above what NADA and/or KBB says its value is.

I'm struggling here and getting tired of not having my own home/space. I might be getting a tiny bit desperate....but not desperate enough to pay so much above the average value of a rig...unless I need an attitude adjustment?

I can't get the site to load...but probably wouldn't have any clue to current pricing of used RVs .
Desperation buying is probably not advised , patience pays (or at least it used to).
What is it worth to you ? and can you afford that much ?
NADA is vapor pricing anyway , car dealers pretty much own it......

Have it checked by a mechanic of your choosing .
Look for leaks .
Ask for maint. records
SOP in effect.
stay tuned

here's my patten, find a vehicle I want... from van to RV, whatever...

Look up value on NADA or KBB, realize it is over priced (according to those resources), and balk.

Rinse and repeat.

I can afford it, but I refuse to pay too much. So I'm wondering if "everyone is crazy" or if it's just me.

Here's another example... I was looking at a 2002 Chinook... It looked great/neat, but it was priced 20k over NADA. Here's what I sent to the dealership:

Here was their reply:

You'll probably have to click the image to read...

No dealing whatsoever... Sad

Chinooks have typically been a collector/fanatic rig ,(fiberglass shell) prices generally are higher than something else.
How big ?
Is it on a Toyota chassis ?
4 or 6 cyl.

I knew they were well thought of. I guess the collector part of that makes it make sense a tiny bit more, but maybe not to the tune of 20k more lol

It was 24 feet. Not sure about the Toyota chassis...I'm thinking not because I don't recall that.

The "Toyhomes" (yes they actually call them that) are usually more like 16' but not sure .
I think they went to Chevy/Ford chassis at some point , the Toyota were discontinued at some point IIRC.
Haven't followed them for many years .

My only possible contributions to your search : mind the slide! a- do NOT get anything with a kitchen slide, too much weight and issues with moving connections.. and b- can you get through with the slide IN.. or do you need to deploy to get to your bathroom? Lol - highly inconvenient —

I hope you find something amazing and that meets all your needs. My life lesson- Have your checklist of MustHaves and Wants and be honest with yourself. How many Musts can you truly live without and still be content in the rig?? Because all the Prettys and Niftys do not make a rig a home.

I've seen so many rigs with slides that leak , or stuck in or out OR somewhere in between too.
Keeping the top clean is another maint issue to add to the list.
If more space is really needed , a bigger rig is a better option....

Not a slide fan. Except at a water park.
