your in rural texas, anyone in a farm truck will surely help you, there should be a church near by,dont be afraid to ask

I did wonder, since everything was fine until I stopped and then the problem showed up when I started it up. Kind of weird. When I got it pulled away from the curb, it didn’t seem to be in neutral, back tires were protesting, but it was.

Sadly, no old farmers here. Most others too busy or whatever. All good for the moment though, so I’m good.

that kinda sounds like the torque converter,it's a hydraulic clutch that has the same purpose as a regular clutch

does it move at all? try all the gears

Let.it warm up in neutral.for.a bit.

blactank, yes, it will move with a fair amount of reluctance in overdrive off mode. It will not move in any other gear, whether or is on or off.

Stern, yes, I did that. Last night, I let it warm up until it showed up warm on the temperature gauge, but it moves the same, only in that one gear, no matter what. And I did check the level with it running, in neutral. I’ve been keeping a close eye on it since I left home, but did check last night.

First thing Monday morning, I’ll call the person in town, here, and see if it’s something he can deal with, or if he can get it going long enough to get back to Odessa.

Tx2sturgis, do you have any contacts in Odessa? A quick look shows four transmission places there, one an AAMCO, and three others. I’ll check reviews online, but those are only marginally reliable.

So now, we wait. I guess this old thing can use a cleaning.

While i had issues with toms.river jersey douchebag Aamco proprieters. I have over 100k miles on the unit rebuilt.in santa Barbara. The nationwide warranty was a bit of piece of mind.

Just wish i knew about bulk atf fluid vs atf+3 back in 2002 and would never have needed to goto toms river and interact with those dishonest fvckers

Just one more reason i hate NJ. If somewhat irrationally.

Batteries low, so can’t watch, but went through that chart and didn’t find my specific issue, so, yeah. I believe it. My big debate is, should I just get the damn thing toOdessa and have done with it? Guess I have all day tomorrow to think about that.

Sorry I can’t offer any transmission wisdom. Tore many apart, still attached to engines racing; but they remain magical steampunk gear mechanisms.

So I’ll add. Your safe. Our little community has you. Pour a beverage and relax. Decisions can wait till tomorrow.

My take away. What a caring supportive little family we have. Makes me feel proud, to see the love and concern. As we grow I hope this doesn’t change. Perhaps a section called SOS should be added just so when we have a larger forum posts like this don’t get missed.

Love.

I put out a call on another forum I am on that has a lot of experience with things like this.
(And am going to call Escapees when they open (3pm) to see if a rescue party could show up for at minimum moral support)
stay tuned
