I use Anderson connectors & have never had an issue. They use them in insudtry, elect forklifts & vehecles & are available most anywhere in the country.  Here's what they look like.

I use Anderson Powerpull SB50 connectors.
These connectors come in several colors. Anderson has a recommended color code:

Yellow 12 V
Orange 18 V
Red 24 V
Grey 36 V
Blue 48 V
Green 72 V
Black 80 V
Brown 96 V
Violet 120 V
White 144 V

You do not have to abide by this code but it is important to note that all the connectors you use must be the same color because each color is keyed differently. For instance, a red connector will not mate with a yellow connector.

I too was unaware of the color coded Anderson's in for wire sizes larger than 10AWG.

I had used similar looking SB connections on 6AWG, and did find that while they look the same, being red and black and same physical size, they would not mate together, so it is not universal. Get them all from one supplier.

I had put some '350 amp' Winch connectors on some 0AWG wire, and that connector was the size of my palm. Same general design as Andersons, but I do not think they were exactly the same and perhaps would not mate with genuine Andersons.

The Anderson Powerpoles are different than the SB connectors in that each wire has its own plastic housing, they are not joined. The 15/30 and 45 amp powerpole versions all use the same plastic housings, and these housings are apparently available in different colors too. I've personally only used red and black, so far.

I have used some Non Genuine Anderson powerpole clones both intentionally and non. These have mated with each other end to end and side to side with the genuine Andersons, without issue, at least those I have tried. There is not much $avings to be had with the non genuine powerpoles though. Some of them do come with boots, and roll pins to lock the red and black side by side together, and some come with locking devices to prevent accidental separation. Might save 3 to 5$ for 10 mating pairs compared to the original.

I like the removable locking devices, but they want ridiculous prices for them to buy them separately. My digital calipers revealed they are 2.5mm so I purchased a bunch of 2.5mm wide 30mm long roll pins intending to make my own locking devices, but even if they are compressed they will not fit within the receptacles which earned them a good vile curse.

I've found some blue painters tape to be just as effective at keeping them together, but blue tape in direct sunlight for a while will not be easily removable, and likely will leave a sticky residue, and since the panicked dimwitted coronavirus hoarders have removed all the isopropyl alcohol from the shelves, removing the residue will not be as easy as before.

i use pvc covers on my power poles https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-PVC-Cover-Flame-Retardants-Sleeve-Powerpole-Connectors-HousingVE/113975335253?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225710%26meid%3Dcdcf5defb2d64fd488d5e270e23b3717%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D113230641072%26itm%3D113975335253%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWeb%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Technically only genuine Andersons offer silver plated contacts. Anderson does offer tin plated as well to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the boot link. I've only used them on 18awg wire connections so far. Pushing two 8 or 10 awg fatter wires through the ones I do have, has proven difficult enough for me to not have bothered.

If time to receive is not an issue, the majority of money likely goes to the same place whether a US based shipper or a Chinese one. I've contacted a few USbased sellers and still get the google translated chingrish responses, nearly instantly, if late at night here/ midday in Asia.

The USA based shippers are a nice option though. I order a lot more from Ebay now than Amazon, as without 'Prime' they take forever to ship then arrive, and one needs to order 25$ or more of qualifying items, while Ebay stuff from us based sellers usually ships within hours, arrives quickly Via USPS, and no minimum $ order for free shipping.
Usually better prices too.

I used to prefer Amazon over Ebay if that were an option, that preference has now swung 180 degrees.

Good points Stern. And a lot of specialty, used, surplus, salvaged, overstock, commercial,.....items I find on eBay; Such as obscure ABB shunt trip breakers to go with a BMS for example. eBay is a tinkerers treasure trove.
