I did one ear at a time & hear above average on both but my right isn't as good as my left from years of long gun shooting.
  Here's an eye test I haven't tried

Eh? I am a little deaf after years of LOUD (always too loud!) concerts, drag racing and shooting firearms. One concert I went to was making it difficult for me to breath, way too damn loud. I had my hearing test and both ears taper off before 7500 Hz and is why it makes it hard for me to hear women. My wife used to accuse me of selective hearing Smile I got written proof and they said they had nothing that would improve it.

Rant: I guess if the music isn't any good, making it louder makes it better?!? If it was good, it wouldn't need to be so d*** loud. Rant over.

The band RATT. Would lead me to agree with you. So many small venue gigs with the likes of DOA, Sub Humans, Headpins (ah Darby’s growl and too loud McCloud RIP), Ministry, Suicidal Tendencies. All the shooting did was put the cherry on top. Lol.
