I just read where you can make the best steaks this way also, I'll try to find the article. 50 years ago my Mom went back to work when I was 11 & I had to make dinner for my parents & me & used pre baged boil in water meals alot & they were great! Tasty, easy clean up, etc. This is great, Thank you!

Thought I'd share a frequent lunch when I don't feel like cooking

1 pkt miso soup (chef Morimoto, w/chunky mushroom)
1/2 dried tofu cake, chunk/crumbled (or a small can meat/fish)
2 dried mushrooms, chunk/crumbled
3-4 sheets dried, roasted seaweed (opt)
1 pkg ramen noodles

12 or so ounces boiling water

(I add ramen & any meat or fish after pouring water over the other ingredients & stirring to dissolve miso powder)
Garnish w/leek or green onion flakes

Did you know you can get free hot water at truck stops. You need your own container and you need to ask. Georgie told me that.
