What an ordeal! Glad to read that Spottie survived and your mom was willing to pay the bill.
Peace...

Speaking of vet hospitals, I am hearing bad things about the VCAs (Veterinary Clinics of America). They have bought up more than 800 clinics in the U.S. and Canada, and their pricing is astronomical. My friend in OR took her old dog in with a smallish lump, they diagnosed an abscess, would fix it for $1,200. She went to another place, the vet their said it was just a fatty tumor (lipoma), just keep an eye on it, $40. A friend in CA used to go where I worked in the 70s, the charges were outrageous: reviews used to call it #1, now it's dead last. Sister in ID says same thing. BEWARE!
yeah.. VCA has become the FastFood of the vet world.. low quality care for stupid prices.. and ya want fries with that?
2 of our best clinics were bought by them.. now they charge for services not rendered.. like $10 for nail trims during exams.. which were not done.. I had just done them days before.. and called them out during checkout. "Oh, we always trim nails for people, guess you just didn't notice it." ha and SO glad to hear Spotty is recovering.. Scary. also good to share- so we can all keep better eye on our little furry troublemakers. !

GypsyDogs: "...furry troublemakers .."
They were adopted by humans long ago, to teach us patience and restraint. And it worked! I am very patient with dogs and cats (etc) ... but with humans, not so much. |
