Where will the RTR be this year?
#11
That is what I miss about the smaller RTR’s. The place was definitely cleaned up afterwards. I met a lot of great people there. For me it is way too large now. After you left me with that person needing solar advice, (that she didn’t pay attention to.) I understood what the “experts “ were going through. I was overwhelmed with the situation.   Things were calmer before.

I'm here now. The host couple said the host from last year wouldn't come back. The ranger told them that 7000 folks checked in last year and they expect double that this year. The site is on the right after you make the turn of the pavement. Much closer to the freeway noise. The BLM is planning on having a host just for the RTR. I can't imagine attending with that many people, or anything getting done.

7000? Almost sounds like the ranger was exaggerating a bit. Bob said at the last (2018) RTR, the ranger estimated 3,000, and Bob thought it was closer to 4,000. Maybe they are estimating 7,000 for the next one.

3500 was the tally the camp host gave me last year. Guessing is exactly that, a guess. If you look at the increase in Bob’s YouTube subscribers it is easy to come up with a figure of 7k for 2019.

Dog shit? I saw lots of people without doggie poop bags so I bought a hundred rolls of doggie poop bags and donated them. They were all distributed in a few hours. It is a community, we are all there to help one another. If you don’t like something, then do something about it.

Everyone complains, try being the person who helps instead.

I am concerned about crowd size for 2019. Bob has 220,000 YouTube subscribers. It isn’t going to be a small event. I’m a bit on the fence about attending.

Well, like every thing else....I figure it isn’t my camp, not my rules. I don’t like what I was subjected to last year....ruined my attitude and my appetite. But, it’s Bob’s camp not mine.

Only thing I am curious about is what percentage of people from last year are a part of that expected 7000+ this year? The newbies from last year that I met seem to have dropped off the planet.

You could go to satisfy your curiosity, but if it's too much, you can leave as fast as wheels can roll! SO much better than an apartment!

I think the 7000 figure was for the season. I talked to the ranger this morning and that's the impression he gave. They do believe the numbers will be serious this year and are preparing for it.

Nope. The crowd size estimate for the RTR is 7,000 to 9,000. I believe the estimates are based on YouTube subscribers.
