Temporary Tripod

Well, the blonde one did Something to her foot.
All lickey and limping. Doesn't want to put weight on it. (not broken, that I can tell) (been there- done that before)
Swollen a bit, angry looking..

Poor girl
Thought she had just pulled something the other day.. but it is not resolving.
Guess who gets to go visit Dr.B at Q-street this morning?

Maybe it's just a sprain or something else that's cheap. Was she wearing high heels? (Blondes -'shakes head')

Well, the verdict is.. We don't know yet.
Hoping the meds and care will resolve the problem.
And NOT be a foxtail or some such. That could mean a forced retirement for her from service.. And i cannot do Another dog.
This could seriously change my life.

Yeah.. I'm worried for her, and myself.

..IceCream.. lol

After a long day, at least she had the good sense to put her foot up..

And yes.. that is an infant sock (thank you dollar-store) on her foot. Keeps it clean and reminds her not to lick it.
Also yes.. that is duct tape holding it on -snug, but not Tight. Vet concurs that if the sock can rotate on her leg, it is no danger to her circulation. Works like a belt to hold the sock on her foot without adhesive (which can cause a whole different set of problems!)
No, she is not a 300lb dog.. it is just a weird camera angle.. lol
Here is post good-drugs and full tummy..

Just curious (I used to work for a vet)... could you post a clear photo of the injury of the poor little footie?

When my dog got a soar paw, my mother would rub it with olive oil.

This was almost 60 years ago, different circumstances.

When she was a kid almost 100 years ago she chopped her leg open with the ax. Grandma cut open a chicken, stuffed it with old bread, and tied that on her leg for a week.   Then it was opened and the maggot filled chicken was tossed. Just a 10 inch scar was all they found of the gash.

I am glad for modern medicine.

Give her a hug for me.

Wow, maggots to clean up and moldy bread penicillin? Pretty amazing what people used to know to do. Mostly forgotten by now, except by a few.
