i would figure there would be dc chargers for laptops and phones somewhere trucker? and cant think of anything else i would need ac for

should i plan for an inverter or can i just delete ac from my brain and build plans?

The only thing I can think of that you might need AC for would be your A/C. I'm certainly not the expert here, but I have heard of entire electrical systems using nothing but DC.
My understanding is you can get any 12v appliance you might want from stores like this. http://www.my12voltstore.com/

Well, there are folks here with a lot more know how on this subject than me. I will wait and see what they have to say about this.

Do you plan to boondock full time?  Will you occasionally use a campground?  Or driveway surf?  Do you really want to rely only on solar and/or the vehicle alternator?

Depending on how you answer those questions, a MINIMALIST ac setup would be some way to plug in to the grid or a generator to power an rv converter to help keep your batteries charged.

i sure in the heck aint going to pay $40 to park next to someone, when i go into the woods i tend to go way out there and like to get lost,do plan on an extension cord and battery charger for when i get the chance but minimal electrical use, constant draw from 12v fridge,a couple light,a little tv in the evening and bad weather and that about it
will do some near/in small town stealth in a rv with green racing stripes down the side Rolleyes

i grew up offgrid so living primitive is easy for me

Even if you gear your setup towards full 12VDC equipment, it is good to have the choice of 120VAC, in case you do find a need for it. Choices are a good thing!

I'm planning on 110VAC for an induction cook top. Other than that I'll be 12VDC all the way. I will have a genny and an inverter/charger. Those are pretty cool---make 110 from 12V, and has a built in battery charger that auto switches when you plug it into 110 shore power or genny.  I'm looking at the Magnum Energy 1500 Watt 12V / 70A Inverter/Charger, MM1512A. Kinda pricy at $600, though; AIMS has a cheaper one.

If your laptop and phone use usb to charge, you can get 12v car chargers for them too. If that is all you plan on running, I think you can probably get by just fine with 12v only. Keep a good extension cord handy to handle any 120v need that might arise, like maybe charging your car and deep cycle batteries?
