Mine would have tasted pretty good. Marinated in scotch and Guinness for 79 years and fed only grain fed beef and homegrown potatoes.

Not that you wanted to go there with this thread.

But I am more tactical than practical so... Just saying

Yes, I do remember the song, Cammalu -- from about 60 years ago. As soon as you mentioned it, I knew the one you meant!

Pawpaws have always sounded good, but I've never seen one for sale.

One of my favorite things about this forum is the demented pathways that threads take. Sometimes you just learn a wee bit more about someone ~~~  Big Grin

Today I picked up about six nice pawpaws (no space between the words on the non human variety) from the ground. As soon as they are perfect for eating they fall off the tree.

I will be seeding several patches in the next few weeks.

Trainchaser there aren’t a viable crop because of the very short shelf life which is only a few days. I could probably sell them at a local farmers market but that’s about it.

Local or nothing, eh? Well, that explains why I've never seen them. Maybe I'll run across some later, on my travels. If I can unload this #$%&#@ property.

This year’s crop is a disappointment. Only about 30 total. We do have 3 new seedlings so my experiments in planting them is kinda working.

I will try to make jam tomorrow so if that works I might have trade goods.  Big Grin

So much for canning today. Nobody has lids. I have to order them from Amazon.

Some thieves are wanting almost a dollar for a single flat.

My order will be in on Friday.
