About to retire. Been thinking of moving to Mexico. Read about all the free camping there. Thought about a bus. Then thought about vans. Then I looked at van life on line. Blah, blah, blah.
Bought a big 3500 Dodge. Which I am slowly converting. Was shooting for early June departure. Not gonna happen. Van ain't done. Gas prices getting ridiculous. Election in Mexico.
So I'll keep working on the van and hanging out here until things settle down. Leave in the fall. If the next Mexican president builds a wall I'll wander the west.
If you are still reading I thank you. See ya on the forums.

Welcome and remember politics are transitory in nature and we only discuss them in relation to van dwelling as you have correctly done. Have fun and see you on the forums. Loads of good info and people here!

I have a friend from central Mexico, and he was talking about the business of kidnapping that is prevalent down there. No Baja trip for us.
Welcome to the forum.

People only get kidnapped when someone will pay to get you back. Gotsmart you safe! LOL!!! Just teasing!!
It is reality though. Adult people with K&R insurance are ten times more likely to get snatched. Kids are free game all over the world. So older couple in a van...Not worth the headache and pay. Bad business model!
Back to watching my little charges don't get snatched at lunch here in the village.

Hey Terry, welcome aboard.
The hardest thing about retirement is learning to put the brakes on when you first roll out of the sack. The rat-race ended and if you can remember those less stressful times of the 60's an 70's, well then all the better.
Umm, long live Ed Roth!

Less stressful 60’s and 70’s? Where was that?
