I'm ok with most of the look, that green is just something else though. I haven't looked, but do they have theme options there like Gary has here? I don't use themes here, the default one is good for me.

we are on the same forum software, just the difference between a computer programmers brain and an arteest like me
on bobs,i changed the background to a light/medium grey and darkened the green and it was way better put your cursor on the color you want to change, right click, click inspect, bottom left section will be code and a box with that color, click on the box and change away,it is not permanent

I test drove about a dozen forum downloads before settling on the one I had. I wanted it as simple as possible with enough bot killers to stop the intrusions. Started out with Simple Machines Forum and even tried this one. Did some trials on the pay ones. Settled on that Flux forum but it was merging with another outfit that was known for bot intrusion so I guess it was in flux.. hahaha. All gone now and probably for the better.

In that configuration, I get a browser warning on every dang CRVL forum page. VERY frustrating, amateurish, and downright dangerous since it tempts less technical safe surfers to click thru and allow the bad/stupid content. P.S. Texjbird: apple struedel!

It started working for me last night....I suspect there was some issue in the DNS servers and/or routers along the way, being out here in the flatlands...

The good news is they fixed the element that was causing the security warnings.
Their explanation for what happened makes my brain hurt: Quote:Why did it crash? •Our webmaster reported a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack that bombarded our server with so many nonsensical requests that it could no longer function correctly, corrupting the database. Hackers. As I mentioned upthread here, that doesn't make sense. A DDoS would have knocked everything offline, not just the forums, and it wouldn't have caused a database corruption. DDoS attacks are a huuuuuuuge flood of "dumb"/simple data requests that overwhelm the server itself. I have seen cracker attacks corrupt forum databases, but that has nothing to do with DDoS attacks.

Kaylee, is a Vandwelling website something anyone would waste those types of resources on?
